• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There are good people everywhere.

Just when I was getting discouraged that I would not be able to provide a guide app for the upcoming 10th anniversary event in Valcourt, a Spyder Ryder friend emailed me with some hard to get information.

We SpyderLovers have friends all over the place.
Even if we didn't know it.

If all goes well, this Friday you should be able to download the first edition of spyderCodes Valcourt GuideApp for android at the Play store.

Look for it as Valcourt GuideApp in the Play Store.

Why would you want to do it now?
I hope you will give it a look-see and tell me what needs to be done to make it better.
And more useful

This upcoming event is looking like a blast.
Everybody needs something to look forward to.
I hear there are a bunch of Spyders and Spyderfolk attending.
If ever an app could help, it's with this event.
Three towns, three venues and metric tonnes of fun.

So look for the initial edition late tomorrow.

Free, of course, as always.

iOS to follow.

apple makes it difficult to get something available.
Their policy of review does keep spy ware and malware at bay.

But, there is usually a two week waiting period to get an app in the App Store.
Because I needed to move quickly, I had to ignore the apple world.

I will port the App as soon as it is possible.

Thank,s i,ll look it up.Not to handy on computers but i,ll learn.
Bill

Thanks Bill.
These things do have their place but I think some become obsessive.

This app is really a collection of the following:
Border Info
Conversions (exchange rate, temperature, gal to liters, etc)
Hospitals with map & driving
Restaurants with map & driving
Dealers & Tow services
Pharmacies
Daily Events as they become available.

Installed - thanks, Roger! Of course, now I have to research T-Mobile's roaming and international policies to see if I can afford to actually use my cell phone in Canada!

Thanks SpyderCodes. Instaled the app already! Good work. Will come in handy I'm sure. We're not a third world country after all. But,,, you should see how big of an igloo we have to build to make it a hospital or an hotel ! :roflblack: LOL

Ps. Anxious to meet a lot of our southern neighbours!

The iOS (apple) version of the Valcourt GuideApp has been completed.
It was sent to the App Store.

The way it works is that it now will be reviewed by Apple.
Once it is approved it will be available for download.
I'll post once I have word of the approval.

Evert time I send an app for review by apple I feel like I'm back in tenth grade waiting to see if I passed the Chemistry test.
