• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

100,000 hour LED's my ash...

Swapped out my taillights last year for LEDs. Last 100,000 hours, they said.

Left light went out last week. :gaah:

Thankfully, I bought spare bulbs a while back so I had one handy. Also, I did the "Dremel mod" when I put the LEDs in the housing, so it made removing the bulb a snap.

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out for the life of me how the bulb went back *into* the housing by touch alone, so after a good 15 minutes of cursing, I just went ahead and removed the housing so I could see how the heck the bulb fit into the housing. :banghead:

Anyway, all is well now.

FYI, contrary to legend, my Spyder did NOT go into limp mode on one taillight.

Oh, and lastly: next Spyder I buy, I'm 100% commited to replacing the torx bolts on the tailpiece to Dzus fasteners. I swear, in the two+ years I've had my bike, I've removed that tailpiece more times than I can count, FAR more even than the piece on the Spyder that comes *stock* with Dzus, a.k.a. the left-side oil panel. Dzus under there will totally be worth the initial effort.

Let's see..!!

you got 10% of the life expectancy out of your bulb, not good. Hope your replacements do better. Standard bulbs last a long time but not as bright...:dontknow:
