• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    On the fence! Help

You should be getting 2 years standard warranty + the 2 year extended for free if you buy it before the 10th (we did). You can optionally buy 1 additional year any time during the first two years. EDIT: Nevermind I see you are including tax & title so I deleted my initial post. Taxes on our is...

whats the best gear for saving fluel

I don't think the fact people spend several thousands has anything to do with wanting to be frugal or efficient in their driving. Even people with SUVs (myself) and pickups generally try to do things that increase their fuel mileage as much as possible. A penny saved is a penny earned.

Louis Powersports in Greenville, Texas (DFW area)?

Kind of my thought. I had planned on financing ahead of time through my credit union who has great rates even on motorcycles. We don't buy a vehicle anymore unless we are already lined up with financing :-) Thanks for your reply.

Louis Powersports in Greenville, Texas (DFW area)?

The more we thought about it, the more our minds changed but didn't bother to post about it. What's the point? Rick took us out with no helmets as complete motorcycle noobs onto a road and drove us into a ditch several times to demonstrate the "stability". Again, 0 helmets and without really...

Louis Powersports in Greenville, Texas (DFW area)?

I was less than pleased with Cowtown on the two trips I made there. Plus, the sales tax rate for my city if I buy the Spyder in Missouri is nearly $600 more than out of state. Louis had a 2011 red rts still new with 0 miles for $3k less than a 2012 at Cowtown and $2k less than a local dealer. I...

Louis Powersports in Greenville, Texas (DFW area)?

Is there anyone in the DFW area of Texas familiar with this dealer? There BBB rating is good and I haven't really found anything on them that is out of the ordinary via Google? I'm considering getting an RT-S through them. Thanks for any experience you may be able to share.

    2013 Can-Am Spyder ST & STS

I got excited at first but I'm inclined to agree with you. It'd be funny if it were a simple typo :roflblack: I'm totally down for a yellow RTS! Glad I won't have enough money to buy mine until the 2013s roll out.

    Can-Am DCT?

That's what I was thinking. Seems like they could do that.

    Can-Am DCT?

That's not really fair. I am sure there is a rider base that could benefit from a full auto such as disabled community like myself. Why would you want to deny someone the excitement and freedom that only riding a motorcycle can provide? The whole essence of riding a motorcycle is supposed to be...

    BikerCom Experience?

I saw this while shopping for a bluetooth intercom system: http://www.leatherup.com/p/Bluetooth-Helmets/BikerCom-The-Ultimate-Motorcycle-Bluetooth-Communication-System/194271.html Does anyone have any familiarity with it? It seems great. With the central unit processing all of the connections...

    2 helmets, gps and bluetooth

Thanks guys. I mentioned that both of us being able to hear GPS because my wife will be driving just as much as me. I didn't want to have to repeat directions that I heard in the back via comm :-) Just lazy. Plus it'd be nice for her to hear the XM as well. I did see there is a headphone out. I...

    2 helmets, gps and bluetooth

I've been looking at the Scala Rider Teamset Pro 2 headsets for my wife and I. Correct me if I am wrong, but using this with say a Zumo 665, only one headset will hear the GPS at any given time? The Zumo cannot send voice navigation instructions to two helmets at once. I guess this would apply...

    zūmo 350LM

Yah, I dunno about better. The 350 has lifetime maps but no XM and it doesn't play MP3s, pictures or audiobooks off the SD card. The battery life seems superior though to the 660 and 665 though. The no MP3 part bummed me out when I just looked it up. Why have an SD slot when it won't server as...

    zūmo 350LM

Without even owning the Spyder yet, my biggest fear is running out of gas on a long trip. I was looking at the website for this model and it looks great. I know it said it offers "exit services" as I'm riding but can it also do a "route to nearest gas station" sort of thing if I am parked...

    RT-S vs RT A/C

Again, many thanks for all the advice. I think we're going to shoot for the A/C model. We're both mid-30s with no kids. We sort of want to dip our toes in without plunking down that extra cash. We plan on using bluetooth in our helmets for music and communication between each other. I don't...

    RT-S vs RT A/C

Many many thanks to all for the excellent advice. I've learned a lot from the forums over the past 3 months I've researched buying one and (to my wife's dismay) I already have a laundry list of accessories the checkbook can't cash :roflblack: Here's to hoping we'll be riding earlier than next...
