• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone try the F4 "tall / wide" windshield for the RT?

I have the tall wide f4 on my 2012 rts. It is high quality with no distortion. I am 5'6" and the reason I bought the large F4 was to reduce the buffeting and wind hitting my wife. This windscreen does both very well. I have removed it this summer and put on the stock w/s due to the heat here in...

SmoothSPyder Rotary Drive Belt Tension units

Have 7K on mine and removes most of the "hand buzz" . I still get a slight, instantaneous buzz at 7K RPM, but it is just for as micro second!

    SmoothSpyder belt tensioner

Belt Tensioner I have had mine on my 2012 RT for 4800 miles and love it! Takes the "buzz" out of the handlebars at 5 to 6K RPM. Besides the upgraded sway bar this is one of the best mods I invested in.

    Waterproof?

re: waterproof I learned a long time ago with several of my Harley's to slide a plastic newspaper sleeve over the handgrips covering the switches while washing the bike. I still do this on the Spider out of habit. On the Harley's the turn lights and radio control did not like being wet at all...

Quick access panel and SE5 filter cover part #

I just paid $36.47 for the quick oil change kit part# 219800255. This includes the new longer transmission cover & o-ring (but not the longer transmission filter). if this dealer wants $200 I go out of my way to avoid forever!

    New SpyderLover sponsor- J&M Floorboards

JM floorboards I installed the JM floorboards on my 2012 RT-S 10days ago! Let me say these are high quality, easy to install, and offer considerable room to move your legs. The one feature I was impressed with is the way the boards are designed at the front. They divert the hot air from the...

    Utopia Backrest Help!

I am in the process of installing my Utopia backrest. I have read all the posts giving hints, my question is this: What did people use to cut thru the plastic seat pan so the bottom T-Bar can be slid up thru the seat? I have a 10" serrated bread knife that will cut thru the foam but I do not...

RT Rear Turn Signal Bulb Source.

Had to replace the rear turn signal bulb on my 2012RT-S. The OEM part# is: Philips 12496. The odd thing about this bulb is that the mounting prongs are not at 12 and 6 o'clock but instead are at 12 and 5 o'clock. I found replacement bulbs at NAPA Auto Parts part#: 17638NA at a cost of $2.29...

    87 Octane fuel

87 Octane I also use 87 octane without any engine or performance issues. MPG made no difference between any of the octane gas, so why not save the money and go with what works!

Shout Out to Jim and his Belt Tensioner...

Cutting belt guard. I just installed the tensioned on my 2012 RT and did not have to cut the belt guard at all. Have driven it 400 miles since install and the tensioned does not touch the belt guard even with two people on the bike. Tensioner eliminated the slight momentary buzzing at 6K rpm.

    Exhaust Wrapping

Exhaust Wrap Time Total time was about 3 hours which included "yanking" the plastic off & back on. Was 95 here yesterday, so it took several "brewski's" and two fans. Just make sure you cut more wrap than you think you need for the length of pipe. It goes fast especially in the bends where you...

    Exhaust Wrapping

header Pipe wrap I just did this yesterday on my 2012 RT. For the left side you definitely will need an extra set of hands, approximately 16-18ft of water soaked wrap (keep a squirt bottle nearby), I used three 2 to 2-1/2" hose clamps, a pair of long needle nose pliers and you and your helper...
