• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My New 2025 Sea-to-Sky - any suggestions on what gear or upgrades to get first?

As others have suggested, ride it a while. Needs will suggest themselves. One need that may suggest its self rather quickly is a seat change. Rather than going to a custom seat, think about a motorcycledave.com seat pad that goes in your seat and not on it. I was able to install mine in about 2...

What windshield bug cleaner do you use?

Though not from Canada, I like a good malt vinegar on my fries also. The hot water and a towel is a good trick but away from home you don't always have access to hot water. I have used Yamaha's Spot Detailer and Wax on my windshields since 1986 and it works great. Any Yamaha shop will have it...

Your Weather News @ August 2025 Edition

The weather in Utah is very dry, be sure to drink plenty of water. We have not had hardly any rain since May, and here in Spring City the lawns are all burnt to a crisp. If you are riding thru Utah, try and get your ride time done by 1:00 or 2:00 pm. It is too hot later. Also, for some reason...

Are you happy with your aftermarket CAR tires?

When I bought my 2012 Spyder in June of 2015, it had 8,000 miles on it, and I pointed out to seller that the rear tire was almost worn out. He had not noticed and was quite surprised. As I was already planning a trip in August, I came on this sight and learned about tires. I was good friends...

What do you carry for Travel Snacks?

I always have a jug of water with me. I bought a hydration pack from MotoJug added a 1 gal stainless steel from Walmart (will keep ice for a day). It is built to mount to the passenger footpeg on the Spyder and has a 6' hose and bite valve. I had to drill a hole in the top of the lid for the jug...

In Memory of those Members who are now riding the Forever Road - RIP

I knew Mike (Blueknight911) from this forum since from back in the day when he was a little more rambunktious. I corresponded with him while was suspended and he was always very kind to me. I miss him RIP Blueknight911 End of Watch.

What's YOUR Number One Favorite, Model & Year, of Spyder you'd own given the chance?

Ah what if... what if... what if. IF I could have any Spyder it would be a 2025 RTL in chrome in Blue. I love my 2012, it has served me well for over 10 years and 80,000 miles, but I would like a Blue one (the 2012 is a beautiful Lava Bronze).

Spyders are New to me, and the hitch prices have a huge variation - which way should I go? Recommend any hitches?

I bought a hitch from Pierre at Canamaccessories.com when he first came out with them. That was in 2017 at the (now defunct) Red Rock Spyder Rally, in St George, Ut. They are based out of Canada, and I have found theirs to be well built and very easy to install. I don't know what their price in...

How many of your Spouse's ride their own machines?

My wife has a beautiful red Chevy Equinox she rides on a regular basis. She likes it so much that I can't even drive it. Since my Spyder is down right now, she gets in a lot of driving, and I get in a lot of passenger-ing. ;):):):)

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Where am I from? I grew up in Jefferson Parish in an area called Little Farms but it is now called River Ridge. I left there in 1965. I lived in Argentina for a while and in Puerto Rico. I didn't get to ride in either place, but I wish I had. I now live in the wilds of Central Utah, have done...

Anyone removed the clutch cover on the Right side of an RT SE5? What else had to come off? Anything fall out?

Well I found in the shop manual the procedure for removing the cover with the engine still in the Spyder. Now if my back would stop hurting long enough to do the work...

What do you think is the Best Full Cover For Travel? How big is the storage pouch?

I really like the Dowco cover. They are strong, well-made, reasonably priced, and come with a good stuff bag that they fit into fairly tightly.
