• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

    Not sure what happened Mike. When I posted the reply both pics were there. Me thinks the site software could be at fault but, I could be wrong Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood

    What can I do to get a straight shot at the Rear Tire valve Stem?

    I bought this kit off Amazon a few weeks ago. Someone posted pics of this kit on another thread here on basically the same topic. I’ve always struggled using the air chuck on my supply tank and got the job done but, with much cursing=:-). So I bought the above and tried using the 90 degree brass...

    First long ride coming, 2015 RTS - any advice?

    ~~~hi Fatboy! I’ve been running 18 psi in my OEM Kenda rear (2021 RTL) for over 3 years/8K miles. She’s (Kenda rear tire) been run at 90 MPH on the interstate (passing situations) then checked for air pressure some time later (all 3 tires including the Vredstein fronts) & have found only 14 psi...
    First long ride coming, 2015 RTS - any advice?
    Check fluids, tire pressure (18 psi all around), get on and ride. Learn as you go. Never really understood some people’s apprehension. It’s a motorcycle with 3 wheels. No balance necessary. Have fun. YMMV Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood
    Need to know Jacking points using a floor jack?
    Found this pic. If you zoom in a bit you can see where I placed the 2 by 4 under the A arm then the floor jack under the 2 by. In that position it left me enough room to place my home made jack stand (wooden pieces) to the left of where the floor jack is. My bad, I didn’t use a 2 by 4 under the...
    Need to know Jacking points using a floor jack?
    ~~~I had to remove both front wheels not long ago to R & R the tires. I used a floor jack and a short piece of 2 by 4 under the A arm. I raised each side one at a time high enough to get the wheels off. I used spare lumber instead of jack stands while the wheels were removed to swap tires. The...

    What's in your saddle bags and frunk?

    Beer, side saddle bags hold two 12 pack cans each, empties go in the frunk until I’m able to dispose of them through recycling. Others may have better and different ideas Best, Jake Reddick Fla. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood

    Dipping my big toe in to check the water

    ~~~if you’re still kicking it around (buying a Spyder) go to any Spyder dealer and take a used model for a ride. I don’t know about dealers in your area but anyone of many I’ve been to in Fla. was more than happy to put me on a used Spyder hoping to make a sale. You don’t have to tell them you...
    At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?
    ~~~7700 miles on my 2021 RTL (Love the sorta white w/black paint). Rear tire is OEM, looks like it hasn’t worn but, never got a baseline tread depth so I’m judging wear by eyesight. If I were you, keep the rear tire on there until it actually wears out, but that’s what I would do. It’s your...

    Potentially Inflammatory: Why vests?

    ~~~20 years?, you’re just a pup, i bought my 1st motorcycle in 1974, been riding year in/out ever since. That said, there’s many old timers here that have me beat by a country mile, & then some ~~~obligatory reply to the OP, only vest I own/wear now (sold all my business suits (some w/vests)...
    2024 Spyder issues make me wonder if I should buy yet?
    ~~~ Since I bought both of my Can Am trikes from a dealer in Kansas (Cycle Zone), and considering I live in Fla., going back to the dealer for servicing was out of the question. That said, every motorbike I ever bought, Jake spun the wrenches. I’m not a trained motorcycle mechanic, I was trained...

    Replaced the OEM battery on my 2021RTL (Pic)

    ~~~the battery part number on the box in my pic is correct. Dimensions are exact (same) as the OEM battery. I took the OEM battery in with me @ the auto parts store where I purchased the replacement battery, both were measured by me using a tape measure. Not that anyone asked but the place i...
    Replaced the OEM battery on my 2021RTL (Pic)
    ~~~I’ve only had 1 lithium battery in a motorcycle, it was put into service in the 93’ BMW R100GSPD I bought used in late 2014. I sent that bike up to Virginia Mottrad to have some work done. It came back with a lithium battery installed. No issues with that battery In regards to the RE Super...

    Replaced the OEM battery on my 2021RTL (Pic)

    Posting strictly to keep my post count respectable = :) Have had some battery flat issues in the past, always chalked them up to listening to the radio with the motor off. Also, have taken the OEM battery to a knowledgeable battery purveyor in the past to do a load test with positive results...

    Where besides dealers do you get tires mounted and balanced?

    Leaving Key in the ignition when home, any electrical problems with the Spyder?

    ~~~reading what you said here Mike reminded me of something an automotive tech once told me, in regards to my 1971 MGB. He told me to never lock the doors on this car. I asked why’s that? His response was, if they want in they’ll rip open the fabric of your drop top with a knife. After that...
    Seeking wisdom from the list about how best to lift the front with a jack?
    ~~~Mike, my first ride on the Vredsteins were/was in the wet. It was raining at the time. Not a gully washer but very wet none the less. Wet traction was excellent. Same with braking & induced quick right to left and vice versa steering inputs at 65 MPH. Total confidence in these Vredestein...

    Think of changing from Freewheeler - is the Spyder any easier &/or safer?

    @ Strelnikov- I recommend for you to visit a dealer local to you that sells new Can Ams. See if they have any used F3’s or RT’s. Ask to demo one. You’ll know if you’d want to own on after a ride. FWIW I demo’d 3 or 4 before I decided to buy one. I bought the Ryker Rally 1st in 2020, then traded...
