• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    ELKA problem

In order to service them, you need the following: - vacuum machine ( not a hoover or shopvac) to bleed the air out of the shock - access to nitrogen - replacement seal head - high quality shock oil - the precise amount of oil volume - the knowledge and know how to rebuild a shock without...

How long have your Elka Shocks ....

Hello, Like all suspension, the oil inside the shocks have a lifespan which is influenced by many factors: - mileage - type of mileage or use - quality of the oil - quality of the internal suspension components - quality of engineering and design. That being said, there is no need to get your...

    ELKA problem

Hello all, Thank you your feedback, both positive and negative. I will attempt to clear up alot of the misconceptions about our products, and about suspension in general. I apologise if I have not been able to clear this matter up sooner, however I am here in Missourri at Spyderfest and have...

    compressor?

The rear shock and air bag are indeed two completely separate units. The role of the airbag is to maintain the proper geometry of the Spyder when adding rear weight. The role of the shock absorber is to....well....absorb bumps along the road. It sounds like that the only thing that needs to...

CALL FROM DISCOUNT TIRE... Ref KUMHO ECSTA AST

You are incorrect. All manufacturers mentioned above use Linear springs in the front. There is not enough stroke available on the Spyder shocks to allow us to use progressive springs, or a dual spring rate to create a progressive spring rate. The vehicle would roll to much in the corners.

Indeed we were....and the results were as I hoped or we would never hear the end of it.

    What's up with ELKA?

From what I understand, there have been negotiations in the past with Can Am which I was not privy to, however I believe that at the end of the day it came down to cost. Our competitor was able to produce a much cheaper product than we were willing to. Our products tend to be a little more...

    What's up with ELKA?

Correct. We will have an entire team allocated to OEM assembly, and another team allocated to custom applications, special order assembly. All of our shocks are indeed run on a dyno for testing and quality control, to make sure that the parameters that are set by the engineers are accurate...

    What's up with ELKA?

Yes, all of our shocks are vacuum bled, and is probably the MOST important step in the manufacturing process. Once they are bled and sealed, they must sit for 12 hours to moniter and ensure a complete and proper seal. I am not quite sure I understand the comment " getting a second look in"...

    Elka shock transfer question

Yes, the 2013 do share the same lengtyh shock as the 2013, however a spring rate may be necessary due to the extra weight.

    Rear shock to be replaced

You could very well lose some fingers if you are not very careful. I say this from experience, as we had a guy at the spring station here at Elka lose a digit or two when a spring slipped out of the compressor. It wasnt very nice to see. :( I threw in a couple more for ya Bob, just as a bonus. ;)

    Rear shock to be replaced

Be very, very, very, very careful when compressing a spring to install it on the shock. In fact, I strongly suggest you bring it to a professional to install it if you want to have all your fingers intact. Did I write " very " enough?
