• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

Thanks for all the input. Again, I have nothing extra attached directly to the battery or plugged into my USB ports. I did send an email directly to NOCO and received a response today. Not really very useful, but it did mention that for the first few rides you should plug in to a charger as...

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

Good thought, but I have nothing plugged in at all. I run a GPS but it is only plugged in while I am traveling, never when the bike is off.

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

Yep, once it got charged, I started it right up, no messages, quick start, and completed a nice little ride. Rainy now and getting cooler, but I should be able to take a longer ride tomorrow.

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

It did throw a VSS Error code, briefly, when I turned on the key and tried to start. It did start though, pretty quickly, just turned over a bit slow. I have sent an email question to NOCO to see what they have to say about it. Sounds like (hopefully) it isn't that big of a deal, especially if I...

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

It wasn't entirely dead, just pretty low. It still started the Spyder but it certainly wasn't up to snuff. After being on the charger about an hour, it turned over nicely and I had a nice ride before the rain came.

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

I'm using a NOCO Genius2 as well. Battery has been fine but I was riding a lot before the cold weather hit. Just wondering if it is normal for the battery to discharge in 3 1/2 weeks. Still strong enough to start the Spyder, just not fully charged. I didn't check the actual voltage before...

Battery drained after 3 & 1/2 weeks standing, cranking slow, and throwing VSS Error - is this normal? Any help appreciated...

I installed a NOCO Lithium NLP20 battery back in January just because of all the negative comments about the original batteries that are installed from the factory. I did fully charge it before installation and normally keep the Spyder (2024 RTL) on a tender. The last time I rode it was March...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Returned a day early from my camping trip due to excessive fog down on the coast. Fog so heavy it was more like rain. Nice ride down and back though, put over 400 miles on the bike. The weather was nice when I set up camp, but quickly went South.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

This morning I finished loading the Spyder and will be leaving soon for a ride down to the panhandle of Florida for a couple of nights of camping. A bit cool starting out, but weather overall should be really good for this time of year.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Replaced original battery (2024 RTL) with Lithium Ion battery, then went for about a 45 minute ride. Took advantage of the mild temps.

Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

Yeah, new battery is a must. Yesterday I started it with a fully charged battery according to the battery tender, rode it for 70+ miles, got back and put it back on the tender and it indicated more than 80%, not fully charged. Seems like after 70 miles it should still be fully charged. Hopefully...

Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

I'm almost too embarrassed to post this - but yeah, I was forgetting to put my foot on the brake. As many times as I have started the Spyder, and I just rode it yesterday. But I'm pretty sure I wasn't putting my foot on the brake today when I tried to start it. No excuses, just a lapse of memory...

Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

Hand wash, no pressure wash. I've washed it like this before with no issues. Thinking about taking a hair dryer to it and dry around the electronics on the handlebars.

Washed 2024 RTL, engine light on, no start

I washed the spyder and when I tried to start it, it would not turn over. Engine light is on. Checked battery voltage - seems OK. Used compressed air (in a can) to blow out around started switch, etc, still no joy. Wondering if it sits for a while and dries out if it will start, or do I need to...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Thanks for that info. Just looking at the Battery Tender Plus that I just purchased, it will handle lead-acid, AGM and Gel batteries. About to leave for an extended trip (not on the Spyder, unfortunately) but I will look into replacing the battery when I return in late Nov. I'll do a search here...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Yep, original battery. It did finally get up to full charge according to the lights on the Battery Tender, but I do plan to replace the battery ASAP. No sense waiting for it to fail, which it will probably do sooner rather than later. Not planning on an AGM right now.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Attached wires to the battery so I can easily connect the battery tender. Of some concern though is that even though I have been riding it, the battery is indicating not even 80% charged - the BT starts to blink green when it is 80%. Even took it out for a nice 20 mile ride, still charging and...

Spyder Adventures in Maggie Valley, NC

On the NC DOT website there is a statement: "All roads in Western North Carolina should be considered closed. Motorists should not travel in this area, should not attempt to drive through standing water, and must respect barricades and road closure signs." Not good.
