• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    New law

I don't need a law to tell me to remove my hitch, and I've got the scars to prove it. But I do resent legislators who think they need to protect me from myself.

What is the time frame it took dealer

After 2 years of putting up with that c**p from my dealer (3 miles up the road), I fired them 2 weeks ago. They lied to me 3 times, telling me they'd get to it in 3 days. When I stopped in to see where they were with it, I was told it would be 10 more days before they could get to it. I told...

A milage solution that really works

It's pretty well documented that ethanol burns cooler therefore producing less energy and poorer gas mileage. I envy those who can get the pure stuff. We in the Houston area and surrounding counties have only 10% ethanol to buy. Nothing good can come from ethanol in gas.

    Trailer laws?

This doesn't make much sense. If I travel to a state that requires a plate, I'd have to stop and buy one? Or if I have plates on my trailer, would I have to take them off if I went into a state that doesn't require plates? I believe you only have to comply with your own states requirements.

Travel Cover ... Just Not In Black

I went to Walmart and bought a cheap crib pad. Dyed it gray so it wouldn't look so much like a crib pad. On an RT I open the trunk, tuck the elastic part in and shut the door. I then stretch it over the handle bars and bungie it to the front. It hovers over the seat to shade it, the pad is...

La Marque Lunch Meet Saturday, Dec. 31st

Would like to be there too, but wife has to work and we're going to get her car in for maintenance at noon which means I'll be driving her. I haven't even had a chance to get the Spyder out of the garage for the last 10 days. On that note, I did see 3 heading south on 146 Thursday presumably...

    Passenger armrest for 2011 RT

When I installed mine, I replaced all the hardware with sustantial stainless steel screws with fender washers. The hardware that came with it was pretty cheap.

    Hulu Plus or Netflix?

I just canceled my Netflix. They lost all the Sony streaming movies starting next year because they screwed up the Starz contract, and jacked up their price. The streaming movie selection wasn't that great to begin with. I'll be going to the Redbox for DVDs from now on. I've looked at Hulu...

    Just a plug for Seafoam

Do I understand correctly that the advocates of SeaFoam are recommending putting a whole can in a tank of 6 gallons of gas? I think I used to put 2 cans in my boat's 100 gal tank. Just wondering if really means a whole can.

    Interesting/Funny signs on the road

Years ago, driving from Huntsville AL to Chattanooga TN, we drove through a small town in the hills. There on the side of the road was a shop that did small engine repair. Big sign out side said "MORE REPAIR".

ESI HMT Brake Light and 'Pulse-On' Effect

I hooked up a flasher to my HMT, works great. Flashes 3 times in 2 seconds then goes solid. Don't remember the brand off hand. THe first one I got did flash, but you couldn't tell. It just got a little dimmer. Be sure the one you get is made for LEDs.

    Unexpected compliment

A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday, I pulled into the local grocery store. Opposite me, 4 ladies dressed to the T in their best Sunday outfits (one looking like Tyler Perry's Madea!) got out of a town car. One looked at the Spyder and said "that is one good looking motorcycle". Another one...

    Factory tire pressure settings

I found that cranking the pre-load up to 5 on the front and running 18 psi keeps the random direction hunting down to a minimum. The new DPS last year helped a lot too. But it's a personal choice, based on experimentation.
