• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you use motorcycle parking spaces?

I totally agree with Jesster. Some places we frequent have a designated area for bikes so we park there, if enough room. I normally use a little common sense and park where its best for me and other riders. When we ride as a group the group we ride with includes Can-Am, Goldwing, and Harly...

How do you secure your Helmets when leaving your bike?

Like many others, we usually leave the helmets on the seats or handle bars. Never had a problem in 50+ years of riding. However, with that said, sometimes, depending on where we are, I'll use a thin bicycle cable with a combination lock. Run it through whatever's available on the helmet and the...

Why buy an F3 rather than an RT?

I agree with BajaRon. From the first time I saw an F3 I was in love. Low-slung, feet-forward, basically it just looks cool. Recently I sat on an RT in the showroom and loved the comfort, but I rode my F3 home. My riding is mostly 1-up with regular 2-up for a few hours, so the comfort level...

Rattle - couldn't find the annoying Rattle... Helmet Visor Snap!

Add me to the growing list. For me it was switching from my summer half helmet to my cool weather 3/4 helmet. Half helmet has a visor attached, 3/4 helmet has a 3 snap face shield. Just like all of you, it drove me NUTS for miles until I finally realized my bike only made noise when I was...

Just to confirm my rear tire size and brand

That's what I'm running on my '15 F3T. I go with 20 lbs PSI. I could be wrong but it seems to me the ride is a little stiffer than the original tire but its not a big deal. I haven't noticed a difference in handling.

    Ultimate floorboards or smaller floorboards?

Yeah, you can do that. I'm also 6'2", position #5, and I have room to do just that (not with the highway pegs, obviously, although I can rest my feet on top of them if I choose to).

    Ultimate floorboards or smaller floorboards?

I had highway pegs on my 2-wheeler and loved them, so when I purchased the Spyder I thought it would be a good idea. Not so much. My Spyder came with pegs, so when I swapped out for the Ultimate FB's I added the highway pegs at the same time. They look really sharp on the trike, but not of much...

    Ultimate floorboards or smaller floorboards?

I know I'm late to the game here. I also installed the Ultimate FB's and love them. I'll mention one advantage to them I haven't read yet. When I'm riding for an extended time I can actually stand up and stretch my butt while the bike is moving. Can't do that with traditional floorboards. I also...

Any hints on checking rear tire Air Pressure-F3L

Hello Again Pete: Actually I keep my phone with me but the app stays "on" and continues to show my air pressure, even when the reading is 2 days old! Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it seems my battery drains a whole lot faster since I installed FOBO, but if I turn it off after the ride...

Any hints on checking rear tire Air Pressure-F3L

I pretty much agree with all the posts. I bought the FOBO strictly for peace of mind, but I rarely have to add air. To be honest, its also a cool thing to show off to friends. I did find I had to turn off the FOBO app or it would drain my phone battery.

What's the best way to download a Service Manual?

I went directly to the BRP Can Am site and downloaded one to my computer for free. There's also a lot of other info on this site. https://can-am.brp.com/on-road/us/en/owner-zone.html I suggest starting at this site, follow the prompts, narrow it down to your specific vehicle, then download in...

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

Wow, I didn't realize there was such a difference of opinion on this! In 50 yrs of riding 2 wheels I used the kill switch 3 times. When I bought our Spyder, at the urging of a Can Am friend, I took the Can Am course. One of the first things the instructor asked was why I didn't use the kill...

New Can-Am Spyder F3 Limited Owner/Rider, Just Saying Hi.

Welcome James; you've written the story of many Can Am riders. After 50 yrs on 2 wheels last year the legs and the wife convinced me it was time for 3 wheels. By talking with other riders at gas stations, rest stops, etc., I found Can Am riders LOVED their trikes, and that influenced my...

Is this what Programing a new key takes & costs?

I had the same situation when I bought my Spyder. For me the second key ran just over $200, and the procedure was the same. Our closest dealer is 20 miles away, so: buy the blank key (40 mi), take it to my local Ace Hardware (4 mi and a couple bucks), take the key and Spyder back to the dealer...

Anyone tried Ryker bar-end Mirrors on an RT?

My Can Am dealer said they wouldn't work on my F3 so I never pursued the subject. Last year I took advice from another forum thread and purchased some after-market end-bar mirrors from Amazon ($18). There are others out there, so I suggest you check around. I did have to get a longer bolt for...

Will a 2021 Sea to Sky fit in a 6x10 utility trailer?

And don't forget, the stated width of the trailer often doesn't factor in the wheel wells creating a bottleneck in the middle of the trailer. You may be able to back onto the trailer but then most of your weight will be on the back of the trailer and not on the tongue.

What’s your best memory/story (so far) with your Spyder/Ryker ??

Bought the Spyder last spring. One of my Spyder friends told me about how much "power" it has, so after a couple short rides, at a back road stop sign, I decided to see if he was right. My V-star (the 2-wheeler I used to ride) had a lot of "go" so I wanted to see what switching to 3 wheels...

Rear tire disappointment - OEM Tire worn out already!

Many, many thanks to all my new Ryder friends in this forum. Yesterday, in PA, it was mid-50's and sun, so I broke baby out of her covers, pulled the tender, and we made an ice cream run. Beforehand I checked under the passenger seat, found the schraeder valve, and found out the pressure was 0...

Rear tire disappointment - OEM Tire worn out already!

I bought the bike last spring. State inspection for PA was in the fall and it took a new tire, so I read the forums and decided on a General Altimax 43 (my garage did the work) at 20 psi. I could feel the stiffer ride but, no worries. Then I rode 2 up. Like I said, no hard jolts but when I hit a...

Rear tire disappointment - OEM Tire worn out already!

Thanks Pete. I found another forum thread with some info on this, I plan to check my bike out soon. In the other thread some folks say the bladder loses air every few days, some say no problem at all. I bought it from a smallish female who always rode 1 up, so it wasn't an issue for her. Even...
