• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Any Recommendations on brake pads?

So as a general rule, whether car or bike, i tend to pay attention to traffic, and ideally leaving a decent gap between me and the vehicle in front of me, I will either coast and brake to a stop, or have to lightly brake, as opposed to stopping suddenly/quickly which would require applying firm...

    Any Recommendations on brake pads?

So I know most new vehicles have some squeaking with new brakes. Is there a standard time/miles used as far as how long to expect squeaking on new brakes for the 2012 Spyder RT?

    Any Recommendations on brake pads?

One owner before me, got it last month at around 17,800 miles. It’s at just over 19k miles now.

    Any Recommendations on brake pads?

2012 RT - Squeaking at first on start up, then it stops. But today I could definitely feel a bit of grinding when pressing hard on the brake at all. So I wanna get new ones on there asap while we still have a bit of decent weather for the season. I don’t know if anyone swears by a specific...

Dead battery - anything to do while waiting for shop appointment?

I appreciate that sentiment, thats actually pretty nice. I think I know 1-2 people with a trailer big enough to haul the Spyder if need be. But we actually lucked out, a mechanic friend of ours is gonna come by and help me change out the battery this weekend (depending on rain possibly). And...

Dead battery - anything to do while waiting for shop appointment?

I tried getting it dropped off at one of the places near here. But of the few places around that work on spyders, i think i called 4 that did, all were at least a few weeks out too look at, and none had any room to even have it dropped off by the tow

Dead battery - anything to do while waiting for shop appointment?

2012 rts Ok…so i could run an extension cord from the house pretty easily. Do you have a recommendation on a good maintainer i could buy? Let’s say i try this. I disconnect the battery, then connect it to the maintainer and let it sit for 3-4 days, then what? Try and start it as normal, or...

Dead battery - anything to do while waiting for shop appointment?

I’d like to get a general check/tune up anyway so getting it in i think is a good idea And replacing the battery myself…while it appears doable…i don’t have a garage to work in, and as i’m not too experienced with the type of work, it would probably be an all day project for me. My main...

Dead battery - anything to do while waiting for shop appointment?

Going to leave our friends house to come home today, battery completely dead. Tried our Halo bolt charger at a stop on the way there, got it to start up. Few hours later, wouldn’t even start the computer up, let alone attempt to start the engine. Got the bike towed home. Looks like probably a...

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

Ah ok. Sounds like what I did. When I re attached it, I hit the parking brake button a few times to let it run, and when turning the brake off, the wire was kind of bunching up as it reeled back. So I tightened it up and it seemed to do a lot less of that extra slack bending out

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

I checked my front like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84MO8NklnhE The cable was off the tracks. I was able to get it back in place, but the bike is still giving me a brake failure message. Idk if after turning it off and letting it sit it will reset the message? Could there be...

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

I took a video of me pushing the button, you can hear it turning and making kind of a clunk sound. Is that an indication the cable is loose/off?

A bit of a dilemma on parking brake issue

I would like to know this too. I have the brake failure message after a little rain, and the parking brake won’t engage. as far as i can tell everything else seems to be fine. But will riding with the brake failure cause any other issues? And any advice on how to possibly fix it?
