• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is anyone close enough to True Laser Track to check on them?

PMK, So do you think that TLT is finished ? I wanted the kit as much for doing the Outfits (need to make quick changes) as for the Spyder. Been using Ally "I" beams and a tape for years the kit just looked to be quicker once we got the hang of it. Anyhow thanks for your in-put sad to see a...

Is anyone close enough to True Laser Track to check on them?

Just sad I can't get one like I'd planned on. We had planned to use it for the Spyder but I was also going to make some modifications so we could use it for our Sidecar outfits. Mostly I'm sad that these folks are having problems and can't get back to their business. Life running a business...

Is anyone close enough to True Laser Track to check on them?

PMK Went back on the forum and found that others were also asking. BR seems to know about as much as anyone else and that's not much. I pinged some folks in sportscar road racing and one guy says he's also been trying to get in touch for some parts. Also with no luck. Ron did say there was...

    Alignment Questions Feed-Back

I did find that my dealer's PDI set up well - sucked! As I started going through the settings, the first check I made was the basic ride height - it differed by 20% left to right. I think that if they didn't get that right them OMG, what will I find elsewhere?!

Is anyone close enough to True Laser Track to check on them?

How are things going after Ian in South Carolina? I've been trying to order a Laser kit from True Laser Track there and have called and e-mailed with no response. With all that's going on I hope nothing is amiss? I'm hoping that all is well with the forum folks in the South East and am...

    Alignment Questions Feed-Back

PMK, Remembering that all a sway-bar really is, is a torsion bar connecting the left and right side of the suspension. What it does is pretty much make one side mirror the other as we turn left to right and back. The stiffer the bar or where on the end of the bar you mount the link dictates...

    Alignment Questions Feed-Back

Hello All, After some back and forth about alignment I find that I've had PM's and even some phone calls as to my saying that our Spyders have under-steer and that's just part of the beast and something we need to live with and minimize. Some folks almost seem insulted that I would say such a...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

PMK, I'm sorry but I view the the definition of under-steer/over-steer as the one I received in school. It is the difference between steering in-put and direction of travel. You can not remove one end of the vehicle from the other. As long as the rear wheel has traction it will attempt to...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

PMK, Something I noticed right off and I be you felt right away was the built in push. When I first started racing sports cars all we'd do was weld the spider gears and lock the rear end. This was before you could get LSD or locker third members. The first time I started really driving the...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

PMK, Thank you again. Information is a good thing as we all learn from each-other. Not sure what aircraft scales are. What I use are four scale pads that can be leveled individually. The system is computerized and will give you; corner weight, front/rear weight and %, cross weight,gross...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

PMK, Thank you for your thoughts. Much of what you have alluded to makes total sense and I can see there are many levels of improvement depending on the amount of effort one wants to apply. As I have a shop almost full of race motorbikes I can't spend weeks developing new suspension arms nor...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

Peter, Thank you for the information. I do prefer to use mm as it seems to be a simpler method. The 1 to 3 mm seems far more reasonable (more like the Formula cars I've worked on). I will surely let you know what I find in regards to Bump-steer. Not yet sure it can be done but I've done...

Some questions on Alignments - can anyone help?

Hello All, I always get good advice here so please forgive the FNG but I have a couple of questions that I do need answers to. First off (I'm not bragging just letting you know I do understand vehicles) I have worked on Race Cars, Racing Motorbikes and Sidecar outfits. So here are my somewhat...

SlingMod running lights don't light! Any ideas what I've done?

LOL X 10 Thank you Bear ! I've been a line mechanic, race car builder, even built motorbike to race at Isle of Man and Oz. Not really new to this spanner work. I have everything in my shop out trying to chase down the problem. I had everything wired and neatly zip tied my God it was...

SlingMod running lights don't light! Any ideas what I've done?

I'll check that in the AM when I can look at a wire diagram. Thanks you for the idea I would have not considered that.

SlingMod running lights don't light! Any ideas what I've done?

Just installed the running lights kit all went rather well everything fit nicely but when I tried to turn the bloody things on I only have power to the light (slingmod) switch - at least it lights up. As the kit is pretty much plug and play, does anyone have any idea what I might have screwed...

Violent front end shake after getting sway bars

I must say that your problem reminds me of..................................ME ! Take a look at my post of 9/3/22 "Replaced Brake Rod " and understand that I was a racing mechanic for 40 years then look at my follow-up reply post of 9/11/22. LOL at myself ! cheers Mate

Replaced brake rod, now need to bleed - any ideas why?

Thought I'd mention my misstep if no other reason other than that's a lot of torque for a wheel stud so when I first thought it through I rejected that as a possibility. Would be an easy mistake to make so Passing it on seemed like the right thing to do. I can stand to admit to one error in my...

Replaced brake rod, now need to bleed - any ideas why?

As I started the thread I think it is important to be the one to come clean when it was my mistake that was at the heart of the problem. I had not only been installing the longer "BRAKE ROD" I was also mounting the extra brake light system. I include this in my confession because to make the...

Replaced brake rod, now need to bleed - any ideas why?

OEM rod and floor boards. It's been 123 * F ( real hot spell in N California) in my shop so I've put off messing about with the motorbike but think that the suggestion that i might have given the master-cylinder a tug when installing the rod has me think that this may be my cause. As soon as...
