• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Port Angeles, I liked it there the few times I visited. The winters were mild, as were the summers. My X wife's aunt and uncle lived there. He was a crusty ol' fart, but for some reason, he liked me. He was a fisherman. He knew where to catch the fish. They owned a camp ground that was adjacent...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Yep, that can happen but thankfully not often.

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

Thanks again for all the positive info. I finally got my Aux tank mounted and plumbed. I’ll tweak it as time goes on. I made it more difficult than I needed to. I was overly concerned about the plumbing. I had more difficulty dealing with the mounting of the tank. You’ll all have heard of...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

🤣 I just threw the leaking & prostatectomy in for a laugh. I really did have one a year ago, but no issues except once in a while I do leak a little. In your case a trailer with a tank is a good way to go. A lot of IBA members on 2 wheels use a tail dragged (attached like a trailer hitch) with...

Is there a 'Full Tank' Triangle? If so, where? '22 RT

I thought I had read on this forum that once the fuel tank is "really" full a triangle appears. I have over flowed my tank and still have not seen the triangle. 2022 RTLS Where is it at. I see the flags.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I did mean to mention how my aux tank works. Yes, it is gravity feed but just as the Camel tank as the fuel leaves the main tank it creates a vacuum which pulls fuel from the aux tank. Gravity helps it. I must remember to be sure the aux tank is empty before opening the main tank, otherwise...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today I finished the plumbing of my 3 gallon AUX tank on my 2022 RTLS. Now, 300 miles before a required fill is achievable. I did not see any leaks, more than I can say for myself. I had a prostatectomy last July. It is gravity feed through the main's vent. The aux tank feeds the main tank...

Battery Tenders - should you use them or not?

Firm believer. Used one on all 4 motorcycles for the last 17 years. I still change out the battery every 2 years if I am going on a long distant trip and I carry a battery jumper. Yes, I am a little paranoid. Where I travel, I do not want to be stranded.

Anyone purchased from an out of town dealer? Is this common? Any concerns?

I did. Bought a used 2 year old RTL Silver with 1400 miles from a dealer 50 miles from home. I do have a somewhat decent dealer 6 miles from my home for any extended warranty needs.

Gas mileage and the Kansas wind - it made a difference!

Sundown, premium fuel, as in high octane, is not required. 2022 Spyder RTL owners manual, page 162: minimum AKI 87, RON 92; 91AKI/95RON recommend. Recommend means for max performance. I have tried both on identical trips at regular highway speeds with no difference in mpg. I would dare say a...

Has anyone used the Semi rigid bag on their RT? Thoughts?

They are not semi-rigid unless there are some I don’t know about. I have all including the frunk roller bag. I like the roller frunk bag but I lose some space BC of the way it is made. It is a suitcase. I don’t care for the trunk bag because things sort of get lost in it. However, it is very...

WTB: Pillion seat for 2020+ RT.

Does anyone have a 2020+ RT, junked out, torn, ugly, pillion seat? I only want the pan. I bought a pillion seat months ago but it was too good for what I want to use it for. I didn’t have the heart to destroy it.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

On the VTXOA forum years ago I asked the “why” for T6 Rotella. The one person on there that is extremely knowledgeable oil and all applications & types of engines. He said the T6, which is rated for wet clutch motorcycles, has zinc in it so it is better for the valve train. Not positive that is...

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

1,150 miles in November 2024. First Spyder IBA ride. 50 on 2 wheels.

At what mileage did you buy your first set of replacement tires?

My first replacement of OEM rear tire was at about 8400mi. Of those miles I am responsible for 7,000 miles. That is about what I got out of my rear OEM tire on my two wheel motorcycles. It Sucks. I am still running the OEM front tires at 10,000 miles

Having difficulties properly Filling the gas tank!

I know it’s an old thread. Twice I have had 33 or 35 miles to empty on my 22 RT, I put in 6.2 gallons. It was time consuming.
