• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

21 RT Rear Trunk won't stay open - any cheap repairs?

Stand up and respectfully advocate for yourself at your dealership. There is no reason for them to hold the bike while they "see if it qualifies under warranty". They already know it does. If the service writer and/or manager can see that the strut does not hold open the trunk or keep the...

What experiences have you had with Lithium Batteries?

As I understand it, this is the way that LiIon batteries typically fail – with little or no warning. This is just about a non-starter (no pun intended) for me.

Passenger seat lock not locking - can it be adjusted?

To my eye, it appears the latch lever may need to be adjusted. My first instinct would be to adjust the catch by one of these methods: 1) Loosen the bolts on either side of the latch and see if a minor position change lets it fall better into place... OR 2) Slightly bend the lever arm end...

Installing 2020/2021 Spyder RTL backrest from Can-Am?

Yes, it can easily be removed. Just lift the driver seat, pull the locking pin forward to release the backrest and then lift the backrest out of the slot.

Unaware of this 2013 RT/ST Brake M/cyl recall - big deal or not?

Hmmm... brake cylinder melts, brake fluid goes away and ensuing fire destroys bike with deadly potential. Yeah, kind of a big deal. It's a free safety modification... I'd get it done.

Installing 2020/2021 Spyder RTL backrest from Can-Am?

Push the bracket down firmly into the slot until it SNAPS into place. Then the bolt should easily fit into the nut. I just did this install for my 2022 RT yesterday. (Thank you, Brentc!) d.i.

Is there any other way of disengaging cruise control?

As a long time rider (45 years) I agree with those who suggest the brake is the best way to dc the cruise control, if for no other reason than the brief flash of the brake lights will hopefully alert/remind any driver behind you that you are there and they need to be paying attention. There's...

Seat Strut won't hold up seat - any non-OEM replacements?

I had the same problem with my 2022 RTL with the seat strut and the rear cargo lid strut. Both were replace under warranty and the issue solved. BRP must have gotten a bad batch of struts.
