• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 Spyder RT fuel gauge has failed for THIRD time in 29k miles!

Hi Doug... yes, I had read that it can be bad connections in the dash, so when it happened last time I inspected traces and they all looked really good. Did the disconnect idea and it was the sender, and doing this does restore the temp, if not fuel. Rode with trip meter a long time until we...

2014 Spyder RT fuel gauge has failed for THIRD time in 29k miles!

My analog fuel gauge / temp gauge has failed for the 3rd time in 29k miles. Failure is usually the same, the low fuel light will come on, failed gauge will drift to zero in steps over maybe 3 sec, temp gauge will remain wherever it was when gas gauge failed. Just happened again tonight after...

Where did you find LED lights to fit here on a 2014 Spyder RT??

To answer my own question, 1) The connector is back there. 2) The chrome plastic piece is held in with 2 screws, after you remove another retainer with 3 screws. But it you remove it, you still need a plastic module to hold the bulb, so it is not plug and play. 3) Dealer could not confirm the...

Where did you find LED lights to fit here on a 2014 Spyder RT??

I'm doing LED conversion on my 2014 headlights and fog lights (going with some low profile fan style 9005 and H11). While I'm in there, I've seen in some photos that there is another light socket on some models. Mine is an RT but not limited. This may be the issue. If anyone has these, can...

Parking Brake has Intermittent engagement - any ideas?

So far nothing has worked and I'm out of adjustment. Better than it was but still intermittent. I ran across this thread which describes a bad motor (bad brake inside motor? Makes sense). https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?139973-2014-RTL-SE6-Parking-Brake-quot-relaxing-quot...

2014 RTL SE6 Parking Brake "relaxing"

Hi Chris, if there is a TSB number you can look up for me, It would be MUCH appreciated. My dealer doesn't remember this, and their system is currently down, so he can't look it up either... Thanks!

2014 RTL SE6 Parking Brake "relaxing"

Mine is doing the same thing again... Guess it's dealer time. I'm completely out of adjustment and now I know why. Thanks for posting! I just had it apart again scratching my head. After the motor releases, it looks like there is very little total engagement, which might explain why it works...

Issue with Gauges and digital Cluster on 2014 RT SM6

I took the instrument cluster out and inspected it. Solder joints look beautiful, zero defects found. But I did notice that the connector to the cluster was never installed all the way, it wasn't clipped on. I clipped it on and the gages started working, but not right away. It had to think...

Parking Brake has Intermittent engagement - any ideas?

I read the manual and it recommends adjusting the cable, which I did. It is very unclear though about the amounts, other than start with 6mm (from what, and how do you know if you need to?), so here is what I found: 1) Now I definitely don't understand what the 1mm spec is for dimension A. I...

Issue with Gauges and digital Cluster on 2014 RT SM6

Did you ever get this sorted? Mine is doing a very similar thing, except the gauges work OK some of the time, then will go dead. And the low fuel light comes on. Then sometimes they may start again OK. Sometimes banging on the dash will nudge them back into action. I initially thought...

Parking Brake has Intermittent engagement - any ideas?

2014 Sypder RT SE6. Parking brake indicates on when commanded, and I can feel foot pedal change. Brake MAY or MAY NOT be on after that. If it does engage, it is fine, and tight. Or it may roll. If I let it roll a bit then engage, I can feel it grab every time (as if ABS is employed to sense...

2012 Spyder RT With Sun Damaged Plastic/Trim - any fixes?

I used Wipe-New on my F350 plastic. It looks new and 1 year later looks almost but not quite as good, quite durable. Comes in packets with 6 wet pads. 1 pad will do your whole machine and more, so maybe find a car with some faded trim and get that all ready to coat too. It smells like bug...

Recommendations for cleaning and restoring shine to chrome wheels?

My wheels are not chrome, they are painted, but this was safe for paint and worked amazingly well: Warning: Do not confuse what I show you with Scotch-Brite. This is NOT Scotch-Brite. Don't use that stuff on anything you don't want scratched, even chrome, it contains abrasives. So does...

How are you removing stick-on Weights from your rims??

I used Naptha, a very gentle solvent, and a plastic scraper. Coleman fuel is pretty much the same as Naptha, with added rust inhibitors. Kerosene will also be gentle. It came off and I was done in under a minute.

    HowTo: Change Rear Tire

A few added comments... I just swapped tires on a 2014, so I thought I would add a few thoughts. 1) Discount tire would not work on it, they don't do motorcycle tires. Firestone did mine but could not balance it, (drive hub and brake disc removed) because the shaft wouldn't fit on their...
