• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

Unfortunately for me, the nearest dealers beyond those couple near me, are a long days ride there, an overnight stay, and a long days ride back. Even then, those dealers are experiencing the same model mixes as locally so their pricing seems to be similar. It would be a two or three days ride to...

Is the Canyon Riding position narrower than the RT's? Enough to notice & stop cramping hips?

I’m 67. Arthritis is the problem, including at C1 to C3 vertebrae trapping nerves. I’m falling apart. My body is catching up with my cognitive decline I think. I don’t think there are exercises available that are going to help me much. On a long distance riding day, it’s an Excedrin Arthritis...

What is the oil capacity of a 2026 S2S? Does it hold more than 5 Qts of oil?

As a dry sump engine, the difference may be due to differences in the oil tank size and/or the length of the plumbing. I think the internal volume of the engines itself is likely to be the same, I would have thought,

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

That’s a bit of a problem with the shipping industry. Unless you pay a set price for on particular company to do the work themselves, they put it out to bid. In the end you get the lowest price bidder and you have little idea or control over how they treat your vehicle. It may end up being a...

Wondering about replacing my '21 Spyder with a '26 (or '27) - any thoughts on the newer Spyders being different or better enough to justify the spend?

The biggest item is the seat. My wife says the rear seat is 10x better. The variable wind deflectors are actually quite useful too. There’s the backup camera as standard, the rider’s removable backrest, and a vehicle cover. Most of the rest is largely cosmetic, such as the fancy bronze wheels...

Anyone experienced vibrations in their 2026 Sea to Sky Mirrors, like those in earlier 2020+ models?

My 2026 Sea to Sky is worse than my 2021 RT LTD. The right hand mirror is fine on the 26 and was on the 21. The left hand mirror was a little shaky on the 21 but is a bunch worse on the 26. I'm just hoping that as the engine runs in and smooths out, it will get better. It's not terrible and...

    Canyon Carving on a Canyon

My feedback would be as Ron says, perhaps a shaft drive as on the Ryker. I'd also think dropping the price about 10% would undercut the BMW Adventure bike crowd a bit more. Crossing the $30K boundary for an off road motorcycle type vehicle is a little spendy. Where it is, in Spyder Sea to Sky...

Comparing how we ride our Spyders - what does your trip meter say??

I don't think I've ever used the trip meters on a Spyder. I just trust the fuel gauge, as I've come to understand its foibles, and I've filled up before I've gotten even close to the light coming on to prolong the life of the fuel pump. Before motorcycles had fuel gauges, you just had simple...

Here's the Current drawn by my iPhone when using Apple Maps and Apple Music - does anybody else use this device to measure their current draw?

Yes it is. They are much smaller than they appear in the advert, so the detailed data screen and the graph screen are tricky to read. The instantaneous Volts/Amps/Watts screen is easy though. They are the size of a fat USB memory stick. I thought it was pretty good value for $13. It shipped...

10.25 Screen Rebooting during ride; the Screen data is not updating; and Statistics data us incorrect - any Suggestions?

And fully charge it before you install it. You are looking for 350 CCA (cold cranking amps) minimum and at least AGM technology. I run the Yuasa battery.

10.25 Screen Rebooting during ride; the Screen data is not updating; and Statistics data us incorrect - any Suggestions?

The electrical noise and interference from a Spyder is generally more than a car, because in a car, a lot of the electrics and potential interference sources are in front of the firewall. Hence making sure the USB cable is of the highest quality helps. I convert from USB A to USB C in the glove...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

Oh that I know the drill. I also know that getting things done on the cheap by people with neither the skills, the experience, nor the equipment rarely turns out well. I'm sure you see the result of a lot of that coming through your shop, after the damage is done. People don't budget properly...

How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Vietnam was before I emigrated here, it was just something on the TV news for a minute or two every couple of weeks. Until I came to the US I really didn't know much about it. I had no idea what it was really about. From what I have subsequently learned as an American, I especially thank you...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

This is true. However, the young tech who works at my dealer I taught on and off through his high school years. He greets me with my formal title and I have to trust that he shows me in return the respect that I showed him then. So far, I've not had any complaints and they've been very fair to...

Wondering about replacing my '21 Spyder with a '26 (or '27) - any thoughts on the newer Spyders being different or better enough to justify the spend?

You're right, I like the reverse selection and the cruise control cancelling method by reversing the throttle too. I have the satin/matte finish white S2S. I agree the gloss finishes are hardier. However, the satin/matte finish is not either as matte or as delicate as I first feared. But, white...

Here's the Current drawn by my iPhone when using Apple Maps and Apple Music - does anybody else use this device to measure their current draw?

There has been quite a lot of discussion about current draw from iPhones whilst running Apple Maps and Apple Music. So I thought I would experiment a little. I bought a USB Voltage/Current/Power meter from Amazon for $13: USB C Tester Power Meter, 4-30V 0-12A Type-C PD Tester Digital...

Wondering about replacing my '21 Spyder with a '26 (or '27) - any thoughts on the newer Spyders being different or better enough to justify the spend?

I did exactly that. I traded my 2021 RT LTD for a new 2026 Sea to Sky. The seat, tires, display console, CarPlay addition, and lots of other small factors (like being able to do your own firmware updates) made all the difference to me. My wife likes the seat 10x better. Was it worth the money...

10.25 Screen Rebooting during ride; the Screen data is not updating; and Statistics data us incorrect - any Suggestions?

You can update some of the firmware yourself. When you're at your home, couple your bike to your home WiFi, it will need the 2.4GHz connection. Also, put your bike on your battery tender too, in order to ensure that the voltage doesn't drop too low in the middle of the update. Then check the...

Catastrophic Damage at 2026 D3WR - any suggestions on transporters to ship an F3 home to NC?

Look up the "Kelly Blue Book for motorcycles" value for trade. Considering the extent of the repair and the work required to get it back into saleable state, it might not be worth much. The KBB trade in value for a 2015 F3 is about $8,000. In order to cover their labor costs, the potential...
