• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone got BRP Top Case Rack for 2020+ RT Ltd? Pics?

Randy, I went with the Showchrome rack (black) on my 2020 RTL. I thought it was the best looking option and the price was right. Installation was very easy. The underside of the top case lid has 4 dimples that mark the drill points. The rack hardware includes rubber grommets for the top and...

Recommend any Wind deflectors for 2020 RT?

What's your experience with the OEM adjustable air deflectors in cold weather? Do they help?

    Hit debris on the freeway.

I spent a big chunk of time over the Thanksgiving holiday researching motorcycles. In July 2020 I traded in my BMW for a 2020 Spyder RTL (long story, boring details). I've been fighting the itch to get another 2-wheeler, but after reading your story, the itch is gone. I'll happily stick with my...

Review: Lamonster risers for the 2020 RT

I've got one on order and look forward to the reduced reach. Despite having "monkey arms," I find the reach just a bit too far, especially on long rides.

    belt tensioner

I installed a Lamonster belt tensioner last weekend. Start by reviewing Jetfixer's post: 2020 RT Panel Removal. That will get you down to the main (black) body panel on the side. From there you take out the obvious screws/bolts. There are also 2 push pins that lock the panel to the bottom rail...

    HowTo: 2020 RT Panel removal

Hey, Jetfixer, I just wanted to say thanks for doing what BRP failed to do -- explaining how to take the panels off of a 2020 RT. I was trying to install a belt pulley this afternoon and got stuck at the main side panel. After reading your post, I was able to get it off, install the belt pulley...

Hey all you 2020 RTL Owners........

I've got a 2020 RTL, but we've only put about 900 miles on it so far. This is our first Can Am, so I can't compare it with earlier versions. That said, we like it a lot. We've ridden on very hot days and I haven't noticed excessive heat in the cockpit. The copilot hasn't complained either (and...

    Impossible to get service

That ranks as the worst bad service story I've heard in a while. I train call center reps. If one of our staff ever treated a customer with such indifference they would quickly be looking for a new job.

2020 RT Limited - rpm/whining noise issue. Anyone else?

My how things changed in 30 years. DD-727 was 376 ft long with a 40 ft beam. DD-968 was 563 ft long with a 55 ft beam. No wonder you loved her in heavy seas. Interestingly, the crew compliment was about the same on both ships: 336 and 334. The ships I served on were yachts compared to the Sumner...

2020 RT Limited - rpm/whining noise issue. Anyone else?

I was back at the dealer today to do some accessorizing and had a talk with the service manager about the persistent whine at 50 mph. He said that he wasn't aware of anything having been reported to BRP or the 2020 RTs, but would double check. He caught up with me a little while later with...

2020 RT Limited - rpm/whining noise issue. Anyone else?

Thanks for the link to the Smoaks Vblog. Good stuff. I'm not sure he's talking about the same sound though. This is a high pitched whine that occurs only at 48-51 mph. Below and above that range, she purrs. Then again, it's my 1st Can Am and I've only had it for a month, so I could be wrong. I...

2020 RT Limited - rpm/whining noise issue. Anyone else?

I've got about 650 miles on my 2020 RTL and it definitely has a whine. It occurs at 50 +/- 2 mph, regardless of gear or rpm. Can't say whether it's coming from front/back/left/right. I asked the dealer about it. Answer: We haven't heard about that from anyone else. Let it break in for a few...

    2020 RT Belt Tensioner

Thanks a bunch for the detailed instructions, Nexus. I haven't experienced belt vibration on the 2020 RTL yet (purchased 7/3/20), or maybe I just don't recognize it when it happens. I'm not the most mechanical guy, but I'll be able to follow your instructions should the need arise.

    Gave up on BRP connect

I gave up on the two map apps. Tried both and found them to be cumbersome to set up and not particularly useful. I've been using Google Maps on my Android phone for years, so I'll just stick with that until BRP Connect gets its act together. I have yet to get the Accuweather app to do anything...

How many miles on your current Spyder?

As of today our 2020 Spyder RTL has 472 miles. Just bought it on 7/3. Put 210 miles on today cruising the NC highways and byways. Starting to get pretty smooth on the shifts; finally broke the habit of rolling off the throttle when I shift. Happy to report that she averaged 37 mpg today...

Tally Thread: I purchased a new 2020 RT.

On July 3, we traded in my wife's Indian Scout and my BMW F700GS for a 2020 RTL. Our first Can-Am. So far so good! Haven't had a chance to take a trip yet; hopefully, soon.

2020 Spyder RTL - first ride

Congrats! We brought our 2020 RTL home a couple of weeks ago. I owned a V-Star 1300T a few years ago - great bike. But then I went from cruisers to more upright seating on a couple of BMWs. When my wife and I decided it was time to get off two wheels, we started exploring the Can-Ams. We had...

2020 RT, What should it sound like ?

I've got about 300 miles on my 2020 RTL and experience a high-pitched whine also at 48-51 mph. I asked the dealer about it, and he said it should go away with break in. Keeping my fingers crossed. I spend a lot of time at the speed on the NC back roads.
