• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Review: My new Stinger Trailer arrived!

Hey there Racoon! Funny in a way, I bought a used Stinger from a guy in TN, but I live in a registration-required state. Instead of registering in my state, I did so in Maine. A lot of people don't know they can do this with trailers, even though they don't live in Maine. I didn't want to pay...

Anybody have experience with Can-Am Trailering Cover?

Hey there Blue... I just purchased a used Stinger to pull behind our new motorhome. I have been thinking about how best to protect the Spyder during travel; lots of debris gets kicked up from the road (~40 years riding the Bonneville), not the least of which will come from MY motorhome wheels...

Lead, Follow or Git Outa the Way!

Your initial sentence caught my eye... when I was 17, I broke my neck! Crusted two vertebrae, destroyed the disk, and what was left fused together... spent 5 weeks in skeletal traction... and lived to tell about it! Funny thing, the neck's fine, but the lower lumbar, shot. No more lifting...

Home Made Bumpskid on 2016 RTS

DIY RT skid plate Eviltwin, Knowing this thread is rather old :oldpost:, I was hoping to renew the conversation and provide everyone interested with some options. For me the main reason is I prefer DIY (not that Harvey's product is deficient in any way!), irrespective of the $, its fun and...

Does a Transmission Fault code need BUDS to reset? Is it safe to operate until reset?

The following is just to close this out so others may benefit. I took my RT to a dealer (an hour drive) and in 20 minutes he had the bike back to me with the fault cleared, cost only $25. This was not a fault that showed up other than the occasional drop-down warning (similar to the low fuel...

Does a Transmission Fault code need BUDS to reset? Is it safe to operate until reset?

Thanks JayBros! Have you a copy of this, and thus, do you know if it has the fault list? Seems pretty straight forward in the descriptions that its a factory manual; IYHO worth the $25?

Does a Transmission Fault code need BUDS to reset? Is it safe to operate until reset?

Since the initial event I've been on several rydes and the fault is still present. I do understand that all faults are retained by BUDS (makes perfect sense) but active faults (as shown from the console menu) self-clear once the problem is corrected. Proof of this was shown to me while I was...

Does a Transmission Fault code need BUDS to reset? Is it safe to operate until reset?

Technical question on BUDS. BACKGROUND: While investigating another problem (parking brake not releasing) I disconnected a multi-pin connector (bayonet type plug on right side adjacent to parking brake motor) that is apparently associated with the transmission functions. With this cable removed...

Do you leave the Parking brake on during storage?

Other reasons not to set! I have always set the parking brake as recommended, but now I know the warning chirp does eventually go away if you don't. But now I am reconsidering because of another problem, I have (had) a parking brake that would not release - and as I read elsewhere, this is a...

    2020 RT Shop Manual Available

I get the impression from this and other posts on Shop Manuals that the content is worth the expense, what say you - appreciate the opinion of anyone who has dropped the $? I've been a Helm guy for many years for my four-wheel vehicles, but that day is gone...

    RT Accessory Mode Discovery

I've tried this a number of ways and it doesn't work on my 2018 RTL, currently loaded with software version 20.80: -- engine running (or not), holding Mode and then switching off and continuing to hold mode -nothing -- engine running (or not), switching off and then immediately pressing and...

    Should I lubricate grommet?

I'm another who lightly lubed and regretted. When I got home after a high speed run I saw the left panel missing! :gaah: Lucky for me I retraced my path and found the panel on the shoulder (almost) intact! Shockingly, there was no paint damage but the pin was broken off. I found the pin too...

What brand are the OEM Connectors?

IdahoMtnSpyder, Many thanks! Great documentation in your prior post :2thumbs:, plan your work and work your plan. AMP, yes, and thanks for the additional links. After this morning’s research :read:, yep, I now see the molded-in TE moniker (under magnification). Yes, I've crimped many a pin my...

How I wired up a 5 wire trailer harness, plus other lights. Part 1

don't mess with Nanny! Hey Blueknight (Mike), I'm about to connect a litany of aftermarket LEDs (mostly the ShowChrome modules) and that very thought on what's the total load and is isolation required? Seems not but I like to err on the side of safety. My '18 RT hasn't thrown any codes so...

What brand are the OEM Connectors?

Does anyone know what brand of connectors are used by BRP? I apologize in advance, in the event this has been posted before, but my search terms haven't (yet) turned up such specifics. I am doing modifications and like to fabricate my own wire harnesses; I'm all about quality and doing a job...

Light Blue Tint for RT Wind Deflectors

Thanks for the thoughts, and yes, I did see the date, but had to start somewhere! I did this in my garage in a deep fryer, and chose to vertically suspend the four pieces I wanted to do, thus requiring quite a bit more water. I did also try doubling the dye quantity (64g) and increased the...

Light Blue Tint for RT Wind Deflectors

Tried this today and did not get the blue tint, can barely see a difference. My receipe was a full package (31.9g) of Rit black dye and an ounce of Dawn into four gallons of water. Boiled the water and then went to a simmer at just under 200°F, submerged for a full 40 minutes, no dice...

    My Krikit won't click

Just picked up a 91132 (Gates) from Amazon that would not click. Spoke with Gates and they commented there have been problems with units that might have been on the shelf (old new stock) for a prolonged period. Tried the smack it on a bench-method and now it works (Thank you)! I'd be...

Back from the dead...Thank You SpyderLovers

Just another ryder here Lamont, one of those new members you spoke of who just luvs his new wheels! Read about your health issues here on the forum and immediately thought, oh no, hope he's going to be okay, dread the thought he can't ryde anymore! I've been away myself from riding due to...

Home Made Bumpskid on 2016 RTS

Sir, Great job! Being a like-minded DIYer I have been considering doing the same on my '18. Why the U-nuts, as opposed to the screws that seem to used on the commercial unit? Any further advice on your process would be appreciated!
