• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2020 F3 Ltd Fuel Economy

Isn't that really TWO very different questions: How accurate is the computer? And how accurate is the fuel gauge? In every vehicle I have had, the computer is dead-on accurate, but the gauge is only an approximation.

    Spyder Dealer Network Locations?

The most important part of your post is that there was a HD dealer nearby. Nowadays, most Japanese brands have dealers reasonably well spread out across the US. Just about any powersports dealer can, and will, work on any Japanese bike. Every small town has a mechanic who can wrench on a Harley...

    Spyder Dealer Network Locations?

Thank you for the link, but a "Find a Dealer" feature is not quite what I'm seeking. I want either a map with dots all over it where each dealership is located, or a list of states and cities and addresses for all the dealerships. I know I can go on BRP website and ask for an individual...

    Spyder Dealer Network Locations?

Another newbie question: Where can I find a list/map of the Spyder dealer network?

    Sorta Newb Question?

Another newb question (hope you folks don't get tired of me and my questions): Watched a YouTube video of a Ryker road test. The rider mentioned the "negative camber" and "positive camber" of the machine, apparently this has to do with the way the front wheels seem to lean, either inward at the...

    Sorta Newb Question?

Thx. That is one thing I wondered about and had not asked yet: drive belt v. driveshaft. So Ryker has one and Spyder does not. Good to know. Now, next issue: why does Ryker sit lower than Spyder? Does having a driveshaft have anything to do with it?

    Sorta Newb Question?

I don't care much about being politically correct either, but I do like the term "roadster." I think I will use that going forward, unless someone comes up with something better. Thx.

    Sorta Newb Question?

Thx. Using the same term, motorcycle, for both 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers feels to me a tad confusing. I will likely, in my own posts, try to differentiate between the two machines. Don't want to confuse myself.

How bad it is without fenders?

Yeah, that's my question too: Why?

    Sorta Newb Question?

Thx again. I've never been interested in "real" off-roading, but the occasional dirt/gravel road is sometimes fun. Sounds more and more like the Ryker is going to be the machine for me. BTW, is the term "motorcycle" used for Spyders/Rykers, or is it reserved for two-wheels only? What I have...

    Sorta Newb Question?

Thanks guys/gals. All this is great info. You have suggested a couple of things I had not thought about: off-road v. paved roads and gas tank size. I don't believe either issue is a show-stopper for me, but I will think about them. I have never ridden off-road on my m/c but there are lots of...

    Sorta Newb Question?

Thx for all the replies. Keep 'em coming. More direct feedback from owners/riders is always worth more than reading websites. I do intend to ride over to Reno's in KC this week or next and get a test ride on a Ryker and a current model Spyder. When I test-rode them ten years ago the 900cc...

    Sorta Newb Question?

I don't own a Spyder … yet. I am a long-time two-wheeler having ridden/toured for years. Ten years or so ago I decided that when I was uncomfortable on two wheels I would move to a three-wheeler, and the Spyder is my choice when that happens. I am now75, have gotten all the long-distance touring...

    Official SpyderFest 2012 Updates Post!

Drop-In Visitor Fee? Is there a fee for a day visitor? I'm not a Spyder owner (but might be some day) but would like to see the vehicles and talk with the owners (that's sorta how I make my motorcycle-purchasing decisions) who are at SpyderFest 2012. But $50 seems steep for the privilege. Thx. Roy

    What Type Registration?

It was the salesman (don't recall his name) at Reno's on Holmes Road in SE Kansas City area that told me this. He further said that, while I had to have an "M" endorsement on my driver's license to take a test ride (I do have the endorsement and I did take the test-ride), that I am NOT required...

    What Type Registration?

Missouri dealer told me that an owner has the option of registering a Spyder as either a motorcycle or as a car. Is that true? If yes, is it only in MIssouri? Which other states might it also be true? And finally, if an owner has an option, what are some advantages or disadvantages to...

Thx for the link, Vosshog. I've been poking around the website looking for the manual but with no luck. This does answer my questions. Looks to be a pretty good operator manual, too. Roy

    An Introduction and Questions

OK folks, I'm back with more questions. I visited yestereday with Bob Metcalf, Spyder owner here in the region. Great guy and a nice looking Spyder. This morning my interest is Spyder maintenance. Q. What is the recommended maintenance interval for big stuff, like a valve adjustment? How much...
