• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Where did you start?

Great thread Pegasus! Nothing like the long list of some but enjoyed all of them. First bike (71 model I think) Benelli 125 Trail 2 stroke with no oil injection so you had to premix the fuel 1972 Benelli Tornado 650S - scared the crap out of me the first time I rode it but what a great bike...

ST-S - broke the mirror mount - any easy fixes?

Grandson broke the mirror mount when playing around the Spyder. I was about to remove all the tupperware on the left side until I read the above posts. Thanks all for the posts as they saved me a lot of time. I was also pleasantly surprised the item was in stock in Sydney and the cost was not...

    Breakfast

When working, large latte and one slice of toast with peanut butter from a nearby (to work) cafe. Been the same for about 15 years. When at home 2 slices of toast or crumpets with honey and a coffee. Of course the real treat is when my wife decides to make bacon and eggs or when we go out for...

For Aussie Trailer builders the new ADR makes for an interesting read

I recall years ago the local rules were driving lights had to be in pairs. When light bars arrived if you had say 1 wide light bar it was illegal and people were fined for it. Took them ages to update their regs to suit the new technology. Same thing with DRLs. All sorts of regs around them even...

    ST VS. ST-S exhaust

I would have thought so but others will chime in with precise info. What I can tell you is I love my ST-S with the Akropovic. You hit 5500 and it really starts to sing......

    GS/ RSS Buying Advice

Yes welcome to a great forum. BRP continued with the V twin in some models ST & RS until I think 2016 over there. RTs were the triple from 2014. Mine is the 2014 ST-S V twin and I intentionally sought out the 2014+ or a 2013 with the heat mitigation works done. I rode many different models...

My state inspection experience - just a rant

I feel your pain. Have had issues here with different inspection stations (often mechanics out here) for our cars. Some in particular just want a reason to charge you to fix problems that don't exist. Touristy locations in particular seem to be a haven for rip off merchants. Toowoomba has been...

New 2020 Spyder looks like it was left in the rain. I guess I'm a sucker

Would it be prudent to highlight the issue to both the dealer and BRP to avoid any issues in the future that may relate to warranty and the way the Spyder was maintained? Just a thought.

What portable air compressor do you use?

I have the HD one. Not as compact as some but comes with all the bits including an extension and plugs directly into the same connector I use for the battery charger.

Help! First Spyder for wife and I - STS or RTS

This helped me understand the differences. As you can see a ST-S with floorboards was the one I felt most comfortable on after riding many. Was the only one that didn't irritate my back however I believe a RT with floorboards would also have been good. I only rode a base RT with pegs. Pretty...

Do I need a service manual to replace the spark plugs on the ST?

    Thanks will check them out.

    2013 ST-S Oil type

Mine is a 2014 with around 11,000 miles on it. I run fulll synthetic oil (Penrite MC 4ST 10w 40 Factory Racing) and get the chatter. I simply follow the recommendations in the TST which lessens the amount it happens. Reminds me of the instructions for the motor on the boat when shifting into...

    Canister-Ectomy - 2008-2016 SM5/SE5

Yep definitely a big plus on the V Twins.

Do I need a service manual to replace the spark plugs on the ST?

Is there a simple way to tell if the wires are oem or have been upgraded? Spydey had several upgrades before I purchased including the sway bar but the previous owner had no idea what may have been done it prior to her purchase. Thanks

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

FWIW about 50/50 for me. I like to know the auto downshift is working as designed and as mentioned above manually shifting in the twisties or for a bit of aural enjoyment.

The new 2021 limited edition "Sea to Sky" - any suggestions on accessories?

With reference to MONK's reply Re: tires - for over there yep Vredestein QUATRAC 5 appear to be one of the favorites, not available in our neck of the woods so I have Hankooks. Plenty of info on here re: tires Can't agree more with the comments to ride for a while before deciding on what...
