• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Fuel Pump Whine

Haven't been on here in awhile... Any updates from BRP for fixing the fuel pump howling noise when temps are above approximately 80 degrees F? Thanks.

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

Spoke with the mechanic at my Kansas City dealer after work today so they could hear the annoying fuel pump noise first hand. Note: Previously, the service manager had been provided videos in which you can easily hear the noise (you can refer to one of my prior posts in this thread). Good news...

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

I have had similiar experience while headed to the KC Chiefs training camp this weekend. While in traffic, the whine got so loud I could barely talk over it with my riding partner. Maybe others affected by this annoying anomaly will post their short videos of their fuel pump noise so BRP can...

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

I totally get it. I'm thinking if enough folks respond with their fuel pump whine stories, maybe that will infulence BRP to take a close look at the issue. Root cause is probably something very simple.

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

Other than this intermittent annoying noise, the wheels needing an alignment and learning to accept nuances of the clunky drivetrain, I think the engineering is pretty well executed. Gas mileage is right around the 30 mark but I accelerate hard almost every chance I get (fun factor). Rotax...

I have several recorded on my phone.

Loud whining sound at idle after a fairly short run

Same exact issues with my Rally. Hope BRP will cover the cost of replacing the noisey pump. Terribly annoying.

Knock when start out from full stop

It is "normal" for the Ryker but not "normal" for every other CVT cycle. From personal experience, bikes like Silverwings and Burgmans are smooth as glass. The difference gets down to having to accommodate a reversing gear and a shaft delivering torque to the final drive (which is yet another...

    Received a Call from BRP

Yes, several of us have been through that process. Good for BRP following their ISO 9001 training to solicit voice of the customer.

What would you change on the Ryker?

Couldn't agree more, Cueman... The clunky drivetrain is the biggest detractor in my opinion. Not sure all bikes are as loose as mine but I hear/feel that huge clunk taking off from a dead stop or coming out of reverse. Fortunately, I don't seem to be cursed with the poor alignment issue that...

    Two-up on a Ryker

I fabricated a simple 2" wide, 1/8" thick plate and fastened an existing lumbar support I had to the maxmount via two 1/4-20 screws... Works great and really saves my back!

    Call from BRP?

She asked me about every subsystem from the instrument cluster, handling, acceleration, styling, biggest pluses and minues, etc. I obviously voiced the issue about the clunky drivetrain and the idea of BRP giving trained dealer techs a kickback for post assembly laser alignment. Was an...

    Two-up on a Ryker

For us, we have the tall backrest, padded backpack, gel seat pad on top of the comfort seat and she straddles the lumbar support with her knees... She feels very secure and doesn't ever use the hand grips.
