• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Passenger finds it too windy on the back of my RTL

I think your passenger is feeling buffeting bc the air goes around the windshield and creates a vacuum behind it,Then air from behind it tries to rush in to fill that vacuum causing the buffeting. If you install a vent in the shield that will help fill the vacuum but may not be quite enough.I...

Anyone replaced a Water Pump Module? How hard?

Probably should be looking at the hose fittings since the cold hoses tend to leak once in a while. Maybe I missed it but how many miles is on it.

    Helmet sound for sled heads

Ive had helmet speakers and comm systems on all my helmets since early 80s.Every kind of helmet you can think of except snowmobile and what Ive learned is you can make them fit anything by trimming the foam or rerouting the wires and using all your leftover mounting parts, even velcro or hot...

Anyone seen this Spyder Canopy before?

That looks like it came off a snowblower.

This is how our Spyder Axle Adjusters work!

If I had to guess why they use this type of adjuster it wouldnt be bc it was cheaper, it seems far more complicated to cast and build this kind of a setup. Regular bikes typically have a solid steel or aluminum swing arm, so its not possible to put the adjuster on the inside, but the Spyder uses...

Running rough at low rpm. Plugs? Water?

Too bad you went thru the trouble of pulling the plugs, may as well change them now. The fact that you don't have a missfire code pretty much rules out the plugs or coils or ignition system. What you're left with is a fuel problem. It's probably an injector issue, here's a way to diagnose.Take...

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

Maybe I missed it, but did this guy get a road force balance on the front tires or just a regular. I’m still a big believer that road force is far superior to regular balance job.

Anybody know what the consistent hum coming from engine is?

Be careful with adding oil to the gas, the cat (if you still have it) can get get clogged up if too much oil is run thru. A little would probably be ok.

My experience with Motul 7100 15W50

After reading hundreds of posts about shifting complaints on the semi automatic Spyders and also having been in the transmission rebuilding industry for half my life, I've come to some conclusions. 1. These units are a rudimentary attempt at designing a semi auto trans. They have taken a regular...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

That would probably work but would take up too much space. I was thinking of the kind of airbag that you put inside of a coil spring on trucks, it will collapse down to nothing and weighs nothing, and I always carry a tiny compressor.

Where are the Switched 12V Connections on 2021 Spyder RT Ltd?

I could be wrong, but on Lamonster's website he has installation videos for some of his lighting products for the new bikes, and I think he shows where you can pick up a switched 12v wire, but it may be one of those you already found. I'm not sure what you need this for, but on my bike, which is...

What 36mm wrench to remove rear tire?

I already had full set of Snap On sockets but getting a socket to fit between the muffler and the axle nut is tough so thats why I found a cheap pair of 6 point, closed end wrenches with 1 ft handles. I carry both in the bottom of my frunk along with an Allen wrench for the adjustment blocks. I...

Stripped oil drain hole! Any thoughts?

Just for fun I used my boat oil changer to suck the oil out the dipstick and found that it left about 1 to 2 qts in the sumps.

Question on a Battery Tender pigtail

I dont know about the later models but on my 17rtl I picked up my positive, always hot lead right at the alternator. It is easy to access and within 15 inches of the left side grill which is where I put my own homemade pair of relays and fuse box. My relays run my very loud horn and my wifes...

Stripped oil drain hole! Any thoughts?

As a former shop owner I think a properly installed helicoil would be the answer. The problem is that installing a helicoil correctly is a little tricky imho and should be done by someone who has done hundreds. There are other types of quick fix type plugs available and I have tried most of them...

Which way does the oil travel thru the Transmission filter 1330 engine?

I have rebuilt thousands of automatic transmissions and most of them have used a filter that looked like that. The only ones we ever cleaned were on some 50/60 models and they were called screens. I also dont recommend cleaning, All you will do is stir up some deeply lodged particles, bringing...
