• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you change the way you ride with a trailer attached? For safety??

The hitch on the Spyder is in a location that is un-sprung. Meaning that there is not a suspension between it and the road bumps. Hitches on cars/trucks/etc. are mostly in a sprung location - separated from road bumps by shocks and springs. Regards, Don The hitch is supposed to be rated for 40...

Email from BRP about Horsepower for Ski-Doos - why not Spyders too?

Peter... They don't wonder. They expect/anticipate it. Just like about every other vehicle manufacturer out there - for on or off road. They get to meet regulations, increase engine life and dependability, make most of their customers happy enough, and put the burden of anything more, on those...

Email from BRP about Horsepower for Ski-Doos - why not Spyders too?

Raven... In addition to rules on the road verses off-road, there is also dependability. The majority of Spyder consumers will not put up with the short lifespan, and increased servicing that these engines designed for off-road need. I suspect that BRP has crunched the numbers to come up with a...

Do Older F3's have any reliability issues?

de...The only ones I would be leery of are those with real low mileage. To me, that means they were not loved. So probably not well taken care of either. Time unused is often more of a killer, than high miles. Regards, Don

What bike did you ride to get your motorcycle license ??

Pk6... Got my first MC@7yo. Been riding before that. Took my MC endorsement, written and driving test a week after my 16th BD on a borrowed CB360. Didn't want to use my dad's HD. Did study for the written. Didn't bother getting a permit. That was 49.5yrs ago. Five yrs ago for 3 wheel...

Skinning my homebuilt trailer - ideas? How did you attach the metal?

Mike... The old contact cement gluing definitely took a lot of skill and patience to get it right. However, in addition to being stronger, many modern glues are much easier to work with. Still patience and planning are needed. Sandwich panels are the lightest, strongest, most weather resistant...

Skinning my homebuilt trailer - ideas? How did you attach the metal?

Mike... Gluing is definitely the way to go over riveting. Airplane manufacturers like Boeing now glue skins instead of rivet. The bonding technology is there and you won't have leaks. I also suggest bonding rigid insulation like blue board to the inside (spray glue). It will obviously have good...

Front sprocket blocked - how to remove?

Gwolf... My dad taught me that one over 50yrs ago. He was a shipboard motor electrician/machinist in the navy and later as a navy contractor. Good for getting bearing races out of cases also. There can be some big motors and supporting drive systems on ships. Regards, Don

What benefits from Ethanol Free fuel & other questions?

There are also areas of most any engine that do not get properly oiled at idle. Moisture will also not be dissipated until there has been a good bit of time running at full temp. So idling and short trips are the worse for carbon and moisture buildup. I start, turn on the Sena, Put on my gloves...

Yet another hand brake thread, hopefully with a new twist

BLUEKNIGHT911... I agree. There has to be a pretty simple way to get the pedal connection to work on the left side. I just haven't given it a good checking out. Have incentive know though. A best friend is looking to get a Spyder on my recommendation. He has a pretty disabled right leg. Had to...

Yet another hand brake thread, hopefully with a new twist

Gandalf... You are mistaken here. The ECM only controls the min. rpm for each gear. You can manually shift down at any rpm and will get "real" engine braking. In fact you will be able to drop gears faster than a manual - as the shift is as fast as you can slap a paddle with your index finger...

    2019 F3T - can I convert to top case w/linq?

Does it look to you that the Linq System would mount on the 2019 F3L (without the 2019 F3L topbox). Now or later, either way we pay. Regards, Don

Stinger Trailer for Can Am - Review

LifeLongRider... Very informative video. I have never been a fan of single use trailers. Lots of $$ in a couple each of horse and boat trailers. So I can see the need in your case. Impressed with your ingenuity for setup and take down. The (3) utility trailers I have can be used to haul Syders...

Recommend or suggest any All-in-one portable air pumps?

Plarimer... If you have a leak in your system, fix it and the only issues you will have is temperature and altitude. As for the pumps, many here have reported them failing and they are expensive. I bought the 2017 F3T over the F3L for the added power. I figured I could add the pump if I wanted...

    Rear shock air pressure

dave... For an F3T the manual and sticker under passenger seat say 10psi min. - 70psi max. Also gives psi recommendations for weight. At 250LBS, I like to run at 15psi for one up and 60-70 psi for 2 up and more. Never run less than 10psi. Regards, Don

F3T or L air suspension vs Elka

Ted... I have played with the psi and like 15psi for one up. For me, it lowers the center of gravity and helps my F3T hug the road better than any higher setting. I run up to 60psi or more if I have 2 up and perhaps other weight. Regards, Don

Any recommendations for a hitch for 2019 F3 Limited

The BRP hitch is stronger structurally than the Big Bike Parts model shown. I do think that the BBP model is adequate for the max load rating. The BBP's also doesn't look to have the nylon shim pads that the BRP model has for cushioning against the swing arm. You can always look around for a...
