• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any reason NOT to buy a 2012 RT Limited?

Having experience with the 998cc and 1300cc I gotta suggest that it'd be potentially foolish to dip down to the older, unsupported, parts-difficult-to-access machine just 'cos the mileage is low.

Is this 2011 Spyder RT with 12000 miles worth it?

This scenario is a well-known scam, and you will be targeted for a loss if you pursue it. I could spell out the steps and show you how even the local/stateside 'seller' will take a loss if/when a sucker is located. But, for the moment, your best approach is to take the advice and run don't walk...

Ultimate Seat care?? And what about rain?

Leaky seams are a problem for those who sleep in a tent. And, so, most outdoor equipment vendors sell a 'seam sealer' which will also work with leather and also vinyl stitched seats on Spyders. Caven

    Who sells Lo-Boy windscreens for 2014 ST's?

9363: You are aware, I'm hoping, that you can raise and lower the windshield with a rocker button? Forgive if this is already obvious and you know about this facility. Caven

Any ideas why my 2014 RT Dies at Stop Lights?

If you'd recently filled your gas tank you may have a case of 'bad gas' (water in the mix from a gas-station that is getting fewer fill-ups of its own now there is a supply chain problem). Try adding to your gas tank with premium and ride. If water in the fuel is the problem it'll soon be...

Insurance Options - Time to look for another agent?

State Farm seems a good deal for Spyder coverage Try State Farm. I have a full bells-and-whistles policy for $187 p/a. (I also home+auto with SF, which does reduce the premium.) And, ALL family members are listed as approved drivers, even my 19-yr old son (tho' I have NOT told him that fact!)...

Can I Disable the air-pump to the bladder raising the rear?

Brad: Yes. I'm sure that I still have a leak because I didn't address the leak I only added an Elka shock. The pump is continuing to attempt to inflate the bladder ... but the noise it makes is irritating. Is it possible to disable the pump (perhaps by cutting its power)? Best wishes, Caven

Can I Disable the air-pump to the bladder raising the rear?

I replaced the rear shock absorber for my 2014 RT with an Elka when the pump to the raise/lower bladder couldn't keep pace with a leak. Problem Solved! But, the pump continues to cycle every 45-seconds or so. My question: Is there a way I can <easily> disable the pump mechanism so as to stop...

    Spyder RT Rear Shock Replacement

Update to delivery delay for ELKA shocks. Today I learned that the current order-to-delivery timeline is 75-days for Elka shocks. Truly! Caven

    Spyder RT Rear Shock Replacement

I was told today that the time-to-ship for Elka shocks is ~30-40 days from date of receipt of the order at the factory. Apparently the delay is the result of a slow down at the Elka factory attributed to Covid19. Elka is the #1 choice so far as I've been able to discern. Caven

What Loud Horns are available for Spyders?

I installed a 'Bad Boy' horn for my 2014 RT as a replacement for the OEM (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000F5DQWY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1; $31.00). It works fine to catch attention of anyone on the road without causing any ripple of discontent ~~ you really don't...

Ignorant questions about jacking up the RT

You wrote: "I like the idea of the rubber mat - I may look for something cheap." You'll find that people who do yoga get tired of their mats after a couple of month. In my house there must be 5 or 6 'stored' under beds. These come in useful for the task you have in mind since they're designed...

    Changing Seasons

<When> you're planning to use STABIL when putting away the Spyder for the winter then take note that the STABIL instructions suggest you have a FULL TANK of fuel (and therefore a limited airspace) before adding your few ounces of the STABIL liquid. Caven

    Coast to Coast trip

Consider getting the Annual Senior's Pass for the National Park System. I recall $80 for the year and it gets access for the bike and both passengers. Unlimited across USA, and unlimited in numbers of time you may want to ride any particular Park. A fabulous discount for Seniors. Caven

    Flex fuel, 88 & Crosswinds

Friends, fellow arachnids: Thanks, as always, for the freely provided insights. Most of the time the posters & respondents in this forum seem like grizzled, mechanical experts (I sometimes feel like I'm the only one of you that didn't do a lifetime of work at General Motors). So, thanks for...

    Flex fuel, 88 & Crosswinds

Last weekend I took a ride from Salt Lake City to tour through Arches National Park and CanyonLands in southern Utah. This required me to cross the High Plains of central Utah. During this ride I experienced significant crosswinds. I saw two wheeler riders who looked dangerously close to peril...
