• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    F3T - Speaker and sound improvement ?

Would be appreciative of an update of your upgrades. I’d like to find a solution to increase the volume output while keeping the Spyder speaker aesthetics looking stock.

Source of noise on left side of ACE 1330 engine

The metallic sound is considered “normal” for all F3 model Spyders. The exposed engine housing makes this more pronounced unlike the RT models which has plastic shrouding hiding that part of the engine. Every F3 loaner I had while my Spyder was in for service over the two year period for...

    F3T - Speaker and sound improvement ?

Identical sources were used to test volume output differences from the 2020 to the previous model year Spyders. Example: - FM radio tuned to identical station set at the same percentage of volume output - Phone plugged via USB using BRP Connect playing particular song at set volume output -...

    F3T - Speaker and sound improvement ?

I've been trying with little success asking BRP to reveal this information. The parts catalogue indicates there are no differences between the 2018/2019 and the new 2020 speakers in either model Spyders. The 4.5" proprietary speakers look identical when I had them out side by side from my 2018...

    F3T - Speaker and sound improvement ?

2018-2020 F3 Limited Amp and Speaker Upgrade? Has anyone upgraded their amplifier in a 2018 or newer F3 Limited Spyders? BRP stated the 6x20 amp is proprietary and cannot be upgraded. Can anyone establish if this is a truly a fact? The volume output on my 2018 F3-L is significantly lower...

    radio issues

Does the audio system static sound like this on your Spyder. If so, here's my detailed explanation of what's required to resolve the static if it's the same issue. My first post about this issue goes into further detail of what I've been experiencing only to discover this is quite common on...

    Speakers crackling

This was one of the first a long list of things the dealer had performed. It wasn’t the culprit. However, I did share an updated post of the solution to resolve this for any other Spyder owners who are unable to find any resolution themselves.

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

It’s still unclear to me whether the EMI ferrite filter alone without an amplifier replacement would’ve resolved the crackling issue for any 2018 and 2019 Spyder models. Both parts may be required to address this problem. Your dealer has to open a case with BRP in order for this to be addressed...

    Speakers crackling

Speaker popping/crackling resolution I'm copy/pasting the resolution I just posted in another discussion for the crackling/popping audio system flaws which includes a photo of the part in the other thread. After my '18 Spyder F3L spending nearly the past four months at the dealer, my Spyder’s...

Weak Audio Output on 2018 Spyder's w/newly designed digital display models

After my '18 Spyder F3L spending nearly the past four months at the dealer, my Spyder’s audio system is mostly fixed. I'll explain in more detail below. For any 2018 (and possibly some 2019) Spyder owners who are affected and seeking a resolution for this audio system flaw here’s how this was...

Ball Bearings & Metal Ring Found in Engine Oil During 3K Mile SVC - Help!

I've noticed after listening to a dozen or more of the F3 Spyders, every one of the engines produces a metallic sound similar to what my video portrays. Part of the reason I suspect is because the engine housing is completely exposed unlike the RT Spyders which has plastic covering most of the...

2018 & 2019 Spyders - Weak Signal and Speaker Crackling Noises

My spyder has been in the shop for the past few months while I’m presently working with my dealer and BRP regarding the audio flaw. Whatever I learn I’ll update this discussion thread. For now no resolution has been found. 2017 Spyders has a similar setup as your 2011 and the audio system has...

19 months in of not relenting and not about to give up even when the warranty expires. All of the 2018-19 Spyder owners deserve a fix and I will be that mouse who squeaks mightily to scare the big elephant in the room. Thanks for the support, Mike!

Weak Audio Output on 2018 Spyder's w/newly designed digital display models

Speakers unfortunately aren’t likely the culprit of the crackling you’re hearing if all of them are popping. If it’s anything similarly you’re experiencing that’s being actively discussed like many of us have been describing in another thread over here it’s a bit more complex. . Depending on...

Weak Audio Output on 2018 Spyder's w/newly designed digital display models

As I understand the ‘17 model year Spyders have two amps but the ‘18/‘19 model Spyders only has one. They’re not the same nor are interchangeable. I’ve looked into this extensively. The newer Spyders also cannot use aftermarket amps as they can damage the head unit which is part of the new...

    Speakers crackling

Speakers upgrade helped the former Spyder models. Unfortunately speaker replacements alone won't resolve the flaws with these newer digital display model Spyders. This appears to be either a lack of proper shielding or grounding causing the interference or bad head units built within the digital...
