• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    R.I.P. Barney's Dealerships

Good. That's exactly what should have happened. The USPS is just sad.

    R.I.P. Barney's Dealerships

Whoa! That's a much bigger deal than my Spyder. State Farm and the USPS have fiduciary duties in this case. You should contact the insurance regulator in your state and the US Postal Inspector for redress. The insurer can back date when the failure was 3rd party (not you). There are also grace...

    R.I.P. Barney's Dealerships

For many years there was a small, family-owned chain of Can Am dealerships on the West Coast of Florida named Barney's. They were highly recommended. The company was recently sold and is now re-branding as Rockstar Powersports. I first dealt with the dealership last winter just as the deal was...

Anyone received their 2022 Spyder or news on Delivery, Delays, & Omissions?

Of course. If the deal comes together, I will be trading in a rare, pristine RT that I am quite content with. Most dealerships in FL are anticipating Spyders in late March and April. BUT...that can all change based on a bunch of things like logistics snags, regulatory nonsense, labor strikes...

Anyone received their 2022 Spyder or news on Delivery, Delays, & Omissions?

I started shopping for a new F3 Limited in late February. I put a deposit on 1 in the color scheme I want about 10 days ago, after I found a dealership in my area who said that unit would be arriving mid-late March. I was hearing mid-late March from several FL dealers. I spoke to them a few...

What Are Your Favorite Bluetooth Ear Buds? Late Model Spyder Owners...

After picking through the advice given in the thread about BT helmets and using that to further my research, I talked to a few long-time FL riders. Nobody wears anything more than a half helmet here for good reasons. Heat stoke being the big one. So I had to look at half helmet BT reviews...

Best BT Helmet to run with BP Connect?

I understand the helmet part just fine, thanks. I am seeking experience-based advice about integrated BT helmets that work best with the BRP GO app and provide good sound quality.

Best BT Helmet to run with BP Connect?

I'm primarily looking at integrated helmets -- a single purchase. Thanks.

Best BT Helmet to run with BP Connect?

Trying to cut through all the noise. I am not interested in getting off in the technical weeds and reading endless arguments about obscure features. I am buying a 2022 F3 Limited in the next few weeks, and I want to know which BT enabled helmet(s) work best with BP Connect. I am trading in my...

Should we buy 2012 limited or wait to afford 2014 or newer

I bought a 2012 RTSE5 (audio & conv) from a friend for $10k back in 2016. It has never left me stranded. I've had all recommended service done by dealership, so did previous owner. I've changed a battery and a windshield connector, and added an iPod dongle (because it came with the wrong...

998cc Clank noise on start up

You may just need to replace a weakening battery. I've had a similar symptom lately and then it was D.E.A.D this morning. So I changed the battery and she starts quicker and smooth as silk.

New Battery Died and sat on a 2020 RTL

I changed the battery on my 2012 today in the garage. Didn't get to see a 2020 or a 2019. Dealer charged me $400 and broke my antenna last time I had them change a battery (4 yrs ago). And they had my trike for 2 weeks. This time, she was down for about 4 hours and it cost me $150 total.

    2012 Spyder RT-S used...now what?

It plugs into the audio/aux port on the right side in the rear trunk. For an iPhone, you will need the iPod pigtail and an iPod to iPhone adapter. There are several older threads on these forums about this accessory connection. I don't know about the iPhone thing. I run a iPod on mine. I...

    2012 Spyder RT-S used...now what?

If you look up some skid plate ads/pics, you will figure it out pretty quickly. It's a very clear difference when you are standing in front of one looking for a skid plate if you know what one looks like installed. https://spyderpops.com/2010-13-rt-bumpskid-tm-fits-all-rt-models/

Are there really THAT many differences between the Spyder and two wheels?

Exactly. Big difference between a Reverse GEAR and the assisted reverse on some big cruiser bikes. Even some traditional trikes have a granny gear reverse that won't do more than about 5 mph. People should actually be aware that the Spyder is NOT like that. I don't recommend it, but I've...

Are there really THAT many differences between the Spyder and two wheels?

That's the only way it typically works, which brings up another common difference between trikes and bikes: Reverse.

Are there really THAT many differences between the Spyder and two wheels?

Here's a big one nobody has mentioned: If you fishtail a Spyder, you are NOT going down and very unlikely to come off. You can only make this happen while accelerating in a turn on slick road, gravel, dirt (usually from a dead stop). The Spyder auto-corrects this kind of instability. On a...

    2012 Spyder RT-S used...now what?

I ride a 2012 RTSE5. If everything is fine, then the first upgrade to me is the skid plate (if it doesn't have one). That's about protecting your investment. These things lack front end clearance, especially for people crossing over from 2 wheels. You might want to consider having every...

Transition from 2 wheels to 3

Well, my 2 cents may/may not be helpful to your decision-making process, but I'll offer it optimistically. I come from a background of riding more ATVs than 2-wheel motorcycles. I used snowmobiles, quads, and 6-wheelers a LOT in my career after the military. When I say "a lot," I mean...

Does mean the learning curve is over?

The learning curve is over when they're scraping you up and putting your parts in a plastic bag. Speed control is a critical riding skill. What you described tells me you have just now gotten used to operating the Spyder. That's phase 1 of the learning curve.
