• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wonder how this will feel on longer trips

That sure doesn't look like a Ryker ;-) (the topic of this thread).

Wonder how this will feel on longer trips

Yes, since this is the Ryker forum, I presumed that was a given.

Wonder how this will feel on longer trips

Yes, this isn't a touring bike. I'm wondering about 300-500 mile trips. I live in Texas, and that's a common one-day trip.

Dealer says non-OEM rear tire will not work

Dealer/dealership/technician. What's the actual difference? It's all the same place and from whence I am receiving the information. I get that the owner isn't the one I'm speaking to, buy one of his/her representatives in the form of a service manager who got the information from the service...

Dealer says non-OEM rear tire will not work

I have a 2012 RS with about 14,400 miles on the tires. It's time to replace the rear tire, so I purchased a 215/60R15 per recommendations found on spyderlovers. I just received a call from the dealer, who said the tire won't work because "it will throw off all kinds of sensors," such as speed...

Advice and suggestions for curves and Twisties?

I recently rode some of the twistiest roads in my area (the Three Twisted Sisters ride), and was able to keep up easily with the two-wheelers in my group. They were skeptical at the outset, but the Spyder out-performed their expectations. I've never experienced this "twitchiness" some report. I...

Some of the images I saw of the 2018 models displayed Rever on the screen. That's what I use on my phone when riding.

Do ladies prefer a Sheared Beaver or Brazilian wax?

Maybe move to the Off Topic section, since it's not Spyder related? Or the joke thread?

Not sure about your travel dates, but be aware that Galveston is having the Lone Star Rally 11/2 - 11/5, which has placed additional demand on hotels. http://www.lonestarrally.com/

    LaMonster Air Pump Question

I have found the following product to be incredibly useful, including plugging in an air pump that draws more than 2 A. I just connect it to the SAE plug under my seat used for attaching a battery tender. SAE 18" Connector Adapter Converter to 12V Cigarette Socket...

    Just got to Oahu

I see that there is a company that rents Spyders in Waikiki. I wonder if they might have some ideas about maintenance. After all, they have a fleet to maintain.

    Brake Failure warning

When I first got my 2012 RS, I encountered this problem. I discovered it was nothing more than my foot position unintentionally depressing the brake while riding. Nanny didn't like the brake being applied while accelerating. Go figure. Adjusting my foot position eliminated the problem.

    USB charging port question

My 2012 RS has one of these: http://www.can-ambrpparts.com/oemcatalogs/p/all/can_am_roadster_accessories-electrical/5342f98f6d81f5837c18d10a/12-v-power-outlet-kit I simply plug an adapter into it that has two USB ports. It's in the frunk, though, so not the most convenient place for something...

Looking for an expert in wifi extenders

The newer mesh network devices are much better than repeaters. A repeater will typically only have half the speed of the the router it is extending. Mesh networks work differently, and can provide much better speed.

    EPA & Ethonal!

I am fortunate enough to have a gas station close to me that sells fuel that does not contain ethanol. Whenever possible, I choose to do that. Now, when out on a ride, I rarely have find non-ethanol gas, and have to use what is available. YMMV.

HELP -About to leave for East TN and Spyder won't start

I recently saw a YouTube video by a Spyder mechanic warning people that certain LED strip lights on Spyders, as they will mess with the canbus. He said he has had to fix a number of bikes that were having problems resulting from LEDs. In the following video, it's on RT with an added LED strip at...

    998 se5 on highway 55mph

My personal preference is to shift into 5th at about 65 MPH. I'll leave it to the mechanic types to argue over the "right" and "wrong" gear for a given speed.
