• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So here's a silly question, stickier tires, would that not be the oem? They where out faster, are made for the lighter machine compared to a car

Sorry all...been refinishing the front of my house around the rain so I have not had time to do a ton of test riding and such....but I will be pulling the front wheel and throwing a balance on them to see if out....since it cost me nothing but then may just hit up some new fronts, they are cheap...

PinkRosePetal….first off I love Rule #2 ...SOOO damn true. Very funny. I think it was just concerning to me because my older ST didn't do this. The tires are 4 going on 5 years old and with only 13## miles, that is a lot of time sitting which I could see leading to flat spots. When I first...

UtahPete….those do nothing....those screws only hold down the plastic bezel around the lights..

I'm quite mechanically inclined so I'm going through the machine and checking every little thing, I'm bouncing the stuff off you guys to see what you think and give me some new ideas or to see if that's just the nature of the beast. I would like to thank all of you for your efforts and the time...

Peter, I get what you're saying but when I take off all the plastics, and push the faring side to side I can see the acoustic panels flexing. I would be very surprised if the tires were bad especially with 1500 miles on them, I might get that but no other part of the bike is shaking, so I don't...

For the newer machines with the 1330 motor there are two connection points, one connection point has two bolts in the front right near the frunk, The second point has another two bolts right under The accessory compartment. Then you have one connection point on either of the acoustic panels

I have removed the acoustic panels and looked at them ...problem is those are plastic too so they have deflection of their own....it was like there should be a brace of metal behind them

    Oil leak

Glad you didn't get hurt...this stuff is inexcusable...looks as if the welds weakened the material around the weld and it gave way and tore....could have been quite costly.

    Checking oil

Shawn Smoaks...shows that in his video also (if you don't know who he is check out youtube, he is a very accomplished mechanic at a spyder/bmw dealer and video individual) that he fills his machine up with 5 quarts and goes for a ride, he knows that level will be totally fine but checks it...

BLUEKNIGHT911...I agree to having a hard time believe at 1384 (when I got the machine) that the shocks would be gone. I checked tire pressures and that was good. Swaybar is connected and all the link are tight. Tires I wonder if from sitting they have just side to side or bounce that it is...

tips when replacing front and rear shocks on RTL

Askitee….I have not heard of many people going with wilburs shocks...you hear more of the elka and a few others. I look forward to hearing what you think of them, any reason you upgraded?

    Checking oil

Wow Jaybros that was a quite in depth answer....3 scavenger pumps in these motors? What is the point of that? because BRP didn't want to put oil channels to the crankcase?

hey there Peter....nope they do not have the cutout in the windscreen but when raised there is a gap of a good size below the windscreen and the fairing that air blast thru

    2015 rt upper cowl shake

4 Marie, I understand what you're saying I was just unsure about how much shake is acceptable, I had my 2013 ST that did not shake anywhere close to this much but maybe at this point I'm just watching it more. I agree with not over tightening things, that's not going to help anything either...

I may make some extra supports for the sides...all I can see is if it is constantly doing that the plastic will eventually crack or the hold down holes will be enlarged...

Gotcha, thanks for the replies everyone, the machine handles great all the way up to 100 miles an hour and the front end feels planted.. It only happens really when I hit bumps, going down the highway is not as bad as once I've tightened things, between the wind hitting it and bumps in the road...
