• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front End Width Difference RT vs RS

I believe there is a slight difference in the offset of the wheels. More positive offset on the RT. That's why you have to bend the fender brackets out a bit if you use the RT wheels on the RS.

    Five wheels

Congrats! Two wheels is a ton of fun!

It's been fun, but time for change.

Thanks to all! After a couple of rides around the KC area, I can tell you the bike handles great. The spyder was a ton of fun, but it's nice to lean and have the two wheel experience. And Joe, don't let Hans fool you. I'm sure the guys around the office aren't going to get nearly as much...

It's been fun, but time for change.

I've had a great time with the Spyder, but I had the opportunity to move on to something else. Reno's Yamaha in the south KC area just started stocking Ducati, so say hello to my new ride! It's a 2010 Multistrada 1200 ABS. I'll stop in occasionally to see what's new. Take care everyone!

    Anyone tried Ride-On?

What's the mess like when you change a tire filled with ride-on? I'm considering using it too, but don't want to make my tire guys too mad. :dontknow:

    Spyder riding is on hold

    Get well soon.

    You got to see this.

I'd be afraid to ask how much... But I guess if you have to ask, you can't afford it.:dontknow:

    Grafenwöhr Spyder

I was there last fall at the JMTC and didn't see any Spyders, but I would love to take mine and go over there for an extended stay. It is a beautiful place!

    Rear wheel project, almost done.

Thanks everyone! All of my wheels and the pulley were cut by Ride Wright Wheels. I used one of their designs, but they do have the capability to program custom designs into their CNC machine. They do charge an additional fee to program the machine. Contact those guys for pricing and...

    Rear wheel project, almost done.

Here's the latest addition. The rear wheel and pulley to match the fronts. The tire is a Toyo R1R 245/35-17 and the wheel is a 17x8. I don't have much clearance between the tire and the belt, but I'm going to put a 5mm wide spacer between the wheel bearing and the pulley spacer. There seems...

    Moles on paint.

I think they probably look at cost before they look at what would be better to stand up to paint chips. I know my panels were all made of black plastic, then painted. Unless something has changed, I'm assuming things are still the same.

    Moles on paint.

That's the plastic panel showing through where the paint has chipped away. I had some deep scratches in parts of mine where some stuff fell on it in the garage, so I used it as an excuse to get a paint job. I wanted blue before BRP made a blue spyder.

    Tire life?

While we're on the discussion of changing tires, I'm curious what everyone is changing while they have the assembly torn apart. I changed the bearings and seals, along with the outer spacers, at my first tire change. I wonder when the rubber dampers between the rim and pulley should be...

    Tire life?

Most have said this is the normal replacement mileage. Not premature. Part of the problem is the thinner construction of this "special" motorcycle tire. At speed, it tends to expand in the center and wear unevenly. I invite you to take your tread depth guage and measure all the way across...

    Rear Tire again?

I took mine to a local tire guy to have it mounted and balanced (Goodyear tire center I think?). Most any tire shop can change it. It just requires a balancer that fits in the really small center hole. As for the tire, I really like my Toyo Proxes 4 and it seems to be wearing much better than...

Do you wear a helmet? Your choice?

I thought there was a forum rule about political discussions? This should be closed, because it is not a simple discussion about freedom. It's a political discussion about me and everyone else that either pays taxes or insurance premiums funding other peoples' poor choices. nojoke I don't...

    Help please!!!

I went another route all together, but if I remember correctly you can use the 1" block with the 3" esi risers. It's trying to use the 1" block with the 4" risers that gets beyond the available slack in the cables.

    I think this proves itself...

I don't think the point is to tell everyone to live an entirely risk averse life, but to point out that engaging in overly risky behavior ends up costing tax payers and the general public something. Part of the reason that healthcare is so expensive is because unpaid bills are rolled into...

    I think this proves itself...

I like the military's stance on this subject. A Soldier is required to wear a helmet, gloves, long sleeves, bright or reflective clothing in limited visibility situations, long pants, and leather shoes that cover the ankle bone. If a Soldier is found to not be wearing the protective equipment...

    Paint job

There are a lot of different factors: candy paint, multiple colors per panel, type of paint, etc. You may be looking at upwards of $2,500, depending on what exactly you want. The best way to do it is to go get a bid and ask the professionals.
