• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    What is the difference between the '14, '15, & '16 RT's?

Not a single issue with my 2014 with 23,000 miles.

    Objective tire testing?

Mike, I took your advice and put Quatracs on the front of my RT. I have a Michelin on the rear. What pressure do you recommend for those tires, front and rear? Thanks, Steve

    Hankook Ventas V4ES 175/55 15 Reviews

Mike, Do you prefer the Quatrac with it's directional tread design in 165/60 15 or the Quatrac 5 in 155/60 15 which is a non directional tire. The Quatrac 5 could be rotated just like you would do on a car to extend the life. Same price but quite a difference in tread design.

    Hankook Ventas V4ES 175/55 15 Reviews

Mike, I know that you like the Vrederstein, how does it withstand cupping? When my original tires became a little cupped, I swapped sides to run them backwards. That took care of the slight cupping. I wonder how the Vredersteins wold fare when run backwards if needed.

    Hankook Ventas V4ES 175/55 15 Reviews

Are any of you running this tire on the front? I wonder how it compares to the Vrederstein Quatrac which is a 165/60 15. They cost a bit more than the Quatrac but I think they look pretty good. Any thoughts on these?

Frog Toggs - what do you use for insulation below the FTs?

Stay with the Aerostich unless you like getting wet. We tried Frog Toggs and that was our experience. Steve

Anyone here tow a tent camper, a time out, or leesure lite behind their Spyder?

I pull a Lee sure lite with my 2014 RT. It is the reason I bought the Spyder as I did not want to pull with two wheels anymore. The Spyder pulls it fine and I love the true reverse to back it up.

Roller upgrade for Doc Humphries Vibration Damper

I have Doc's idler on my 2014 RT and it's working fine after about 12K miles. It's pretty easy to check the roller without removing any plastic. You can reach up to push it away from the belt and spin the roller with your other hand. Any looseness or noise of a failing bearing can be heard or...

    Harley-Davidson CEO Resigns

Like Harley Davidson or not, if they do not do well, it hurts us all. I've had a couple of HDs along with a lot of other brands and hope they all do well for the sake of motorcycling.

What about what you don't you like about the Spyder?

Number one for me would be a brake lever for my right hand. Lots of mile done riding two wheelers. Number two would be a much more comfortable stock seat so an aftermarket one is not needed. Three would be a hitch mounted to the frame instead of the swingarm to reduce shock to trailer. Overall...

Minnesota forum members, I have a set of deflectors on Craigs list I'm hoping to sell local. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/mpo/d/minneapolis-can-am-spyder-rt-wind/6947362955.html They fit the RT all years. Thanks, Steve They have been SOLD.

    Towing with excessive tongue weight

I tow a Lees-ure Lite also and have a tongue weight of about 45 pounds. I hate to add the unsprung weight to the axel but have not had any problems. I wish that there was a hitch that mounted from the frame but do not know of one. Mounting off the axel transmits a lot of shock to the trailer. My...

I'm betting on a turbo. BRP now has one on the three cylinder 900 ACE snowmobile.

    BRP HITCH VERTICAL PLAY (looseness)

The trailer hitch on my RT had about 1/2 inch vertical play, rocking on the swingarm. When I removed it to replace the tire, I saw that one of the plastic shims on the right side was missing. After measuring the proper thickness and installing the shim I made, all the play was gone. Just a heads...

    Hot while Driving 2014 RT

I just put the 2013 air flow vents to my 2014. This definitely reduced the heat of the seat. I did have the BRP adjustable air deflectors under the mirrors and I thought they just deflected the warm air coming out of the vents onto me. I also have shortened the windshield. I'm not a fan of Baker...

    Tire mileage

By my calculations you still have enough left to make you trip but it will be close. All you guys have gotten many more miles on your Khumos than me. Mine is at 9000 miles and it is almost toast. Maybe another 1000 miles at best. replacing with a Michelin this weekend. Most of my miles are with...

    Trailer for my Spyder

Tilt Trailer I think the Lamar trailer should work OK. I have used my 5ft by 12ft Triton tilt trailer to haul my RT. It has very short sides so the fenders cannot hit and I have about an inch clearance at the tires. I use short ramps for each front tire to keep the nose from contacting the...

    Show Chrome above mirror deflectors

I have the movable ones under the mirrors from BRP. The ones from Show Chrome mount above the mirrors, are fairly new and mount to the clear deflector behind the windshield.

    Show Chrome above mirror deflectors

Has anyone installed these on their RT? I'd like to know how well they work to bring air into the rider's midsection.
