• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Beads or no beads?

Some motorcycle tire manufacturers will not warranty their tires if tire beads are used for balancing. I know for a fact that Metzler will not warrant their tires if beads are used. I'd check with the manufacturer before doing anything.

Good Gas or Not So Good

In the Spyder, it's Hy-test only. In my '14 Silverado I use regular gas. I've thought of using no ethanol gasoline, but it's a dollar a gallon more expensive. I don't believe that I'd get more than a 10% increase in fuel mileage with the non-ethanol gas, so I stick with the 10% ethanol. It does...

    Antenna removal

Need to ship my RT-S and one of the requirements is that it not exceed 58" in height. Floor to top of windshield measures exactly 57", so we're good there. However, the antennas are approx. 72" high. I can bend them, but don't want to take the chance of them breaking. I believe that I can remove...

    rotella t6 synthetic

On a SE model.....is the clutch the same as on the SM? And the mechanism for shifting different? Or are they two completely different animals? That said, I'd also consider that T6 is a 5W-40. What viscosity is BRP oil? I have used Rotella in my 2002 Goldwing since 2004 with absolutely no...

    CB

I have the BRP CB on my 2014 RT-S. Had it installed last July. Rode the Spyder to the Goldwing District Rally in Maine this summer and it worked perfectly. I was told that it was clear as a bell. I was concerned that it wasn't transmitting properly, but my squelch was up to high for good...

Has your Spyder hurt your two-wheel riding skills?

I haven't ridden on 2 wheels since getting my Spyder, but hope to return to 2 wheels soon. I'm a bit apprehensive about my riding technique since I've been "spoiled" with no clutch or front brake. When I first started riding the Spyder, upon braking or downshifting, I kept reaching for that...

    The Villages

The great thing about the Villages, is that if you have an activity or hobby that you can't find, then you can start one. They publish a weekly paper that lists all the activities going on (and there are tons of them), and where and when they meet, and sometimes a name and/or a contact number...

    Frustration trying to find boots

There's a shoe store in St. Paul Minn. that has a website: XL FEET.com They specialize in W I D E widths. They sell Thorogood, Carolina, work one, all made in the U.S.A. Also Keen, Magnum Stealth, Hi Tec, and Propet Preferred (waterproof). I like the looks of the Propet Preferred boots. Also...

Wing Ding - worth going to with a Spyder?

My wife's first demo ride on a spyder was at Wing-Ding. Fred Rau had a stable of them at the BRP booth there. That's where she got her Spidey Senses tingling. Since many GW riders "graduate" to a trike as they get older, the Spyder is a viable and less expensive option for those who are...

JBC Speaker Install in both front and back of 2014 RT Syder!

I think it's similar to not having enough back pressure in your car (or motorcycle) exhaust system.

Gee, that must have hurt going on. . . . . .IMHO, only a mentally defunct person would do that to themselves. . . . . .Unless his significant "other" was uglier.

    Nolan N40 Full Helmet feedback

I have a great looking N100 for snowmobiling. I have a N102 for riding the Spyder, and the wife has a N104 and even though she likes it, she prefers her N40. Personally, I don't trust my safety to any helmet that's "Made in China", as their quality is questionable, and I don't want to find out...

    Why the dislike?

    1. I don't consider my Spyder to really be a "bike". A "trike", yes. 2. I've ridden for almost 50 years, and never considered myself a "biker", even when I owned a Harley. I was always a "motorcyclist". 3. The people the OP are complaining about probably just don't want those with something...

    TRIVIA QUESTION.........

ANSWER: Fred Rau At Americade when he was showing the Spyder for BRP. He asked Mr. Baker, who was a vendor there, if he had any yet for the Spyder, and was told that he would have a set by tomorrow. He went over to Fred's machine, and took some measurements, and by the next day, he had a set...

Well, they were the first Baker Air Wings installed on a Spyder....but I guess that you could call them a "prototype" even though they were the standard "Air Wings".
