• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

I only had enough time last night to check the level(eyeball) in the overflow tank and saw nothing but didn't get to throw a flashlight under it. I can only assume that both fans are going as it is very loud when they kick in. As long as I am driving about 20 mph or higher my temp is sitting...

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

I will check out both when I get home from work. Thanks. Been out of warranty for a bit now but if due a coolant change then probably a good time to do it.

    Overheating problem on 2014 RTS

End of last year and start of this season I have been having overheat problems when idling. Fan kicks on but it appears to not be cooling it off enough as the Overheat light will come on. Zero signs of any leakage anywhere. I am scheduling my springtime oil change and will probably get them to...

What year and how many miles on it.

Bought my 2014 on 4th of July weekend in St Louis, having never sat on one. Rode it home to Upstate NY. I am currently at 38,000 and expect to be able to round out the 10,000/year average by the holiday weekend this year. Altimax on the rear a couple of years ago. Two Vreds on this year...

About time Spring makes a slow arrival

Yeah, Filers had previously mounted my Altimax for me. They just quoted me $59/tire so I may just get a local car repair(have had excellent svc) mount the front ones for a lot less. Will see what Bibbens in Weedsport comes back with for oil change comparison price. Rode around yesterday quite...

About time Spring makes a slow arrival

Lol...I enjoyed riding the Richardson Highway between Eielson AFB and Fairbanks back in 85/86. You probably have a little while yet to wait.

About time Spring makes a slow arrival

I may just do that. First quote to do tires was $59/each...awaiting next one from place that I will probably get the oil changed anyways. If reasonable then I will have it done in one place.

About time Spring makes a slow arrival

Going to break the bike out of storage finally today. Early for most in Upstate but I don't mind cold as long as white stuff isn't present. Ordered new tires finally for the front; VREDESTEIN QUATRAC 5 175/55R15. Previous stocks have made it to 30k+ since 07/15 but started having cupping/wobbles...

    Front Shaking

Front Shaking/Cupping Beginning of the season I had oil change done and had them verify that the shaking in the front at 45 mph was due to cupping on the tires. They agreed. Considering they are about to hit 35,000 miles I think I made out better than most others. Even the rear OEM I swapped...

    Headlight problem

Just to close out the thread. Thank you for all inputs. Dealer was kind enough to test everything as he didn't believe that both bulbs would go at same time. All was good. Swapped bulbs and fixed. Covered under warranty so well worth my dealership visit after all...

    Headlight problem

I would love to make the ride to Deadwood...but already scheduled getting away and unplugging in the Adirondacks for some much needed camping.

    Headlight problem

Currently at almost 26k miles after less than 2 years. Thank you for the tips. I will probably go that route and end with improved LED lights. Too many near deer misses.

    Headlight problem

LOL. Nope not rich when I earn less than minimum wage but not sure where that comment fits in helping my headlight. I was saying that the stock light is dim in the middle of the sunny day. Headlight is still not working after checking the relays and fuses. Will go find another way to fix...

    Headlight problem

Wish it was that easy. Reseated and visually inspected 2 relays and 3 fuses and all seems fine. Pretty certain it is still not working but then without a closed garage and a beautiful sunny day it is actually difficult to see the "cheesy" headlights if they are working. I am glad that the...

    Headlight problem

Thank you all for very fast replies. I will be digging into the fuse box today and checking fuse #1 and relays but I would have thought that if one of them was gone then the shutter would not be working too? Just guessing here a little...would think fuse or relay would be an all or nothing...

    Headlight problem

I just briefly searched through the forums here for headlight info...both of my headlights are out. Foglights are the only things working. Hitting High to Low makes the shutter sounds. How likely/unlikely is it that I would lose both sides at the same time? Or is this some other culprit? If it...

    ANY RHODE ISLAND SPYDER RIDERS

Good to hear that the Spyder craze has made it to the Ocean State. I grew up in Middletown. I don't get back nearly as much as I would like to. Happy and safe riding to all of you.

    Bluetooth Receiver

Works perfectly with just doing Device connected via the 20s. Phone cuts out the music over BT when I have a call to the 20s. Thank you for the direction on this. Will be getting one of the larger phone RAM X-Mounts I think so I can put the iPhone 6S+ up front.

    Bluetooth Receiver

The Nyrius also does this...fine tuning it. Your reply generated another question as I also use an iPhone 6 Plus(with a Mophie case) and will be looking at best choices for a handlebar mount. What do you use and do you like it? Wish you went with something else? Thanks.

    Bluetooth Receiver

Yep, that and my wife's "headset" is slapping me on the side of the helmet and yelling at me. Need to get one for her...when she starts riding more and it will then make sense. Mine is basically overkill for "hands-free phone calls". My commute is 10 hours a week so she wants to be able to slap...
