• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Welcome aboard Cissylee!! I grew up in SW Iowa myself (Malvern, east of Council Bluffs) and we vacationed a lot in Okoboji. Always stayed at Spud's Resort and made it a point to get to Arnold's Park each time. Great area to grow up in and a lot of fond memories.

    2018 Spyder Models, Colors Etc

With the demise of the RT-S model, I see that the RT base model will still have cruise control and heated handgrips. I think that I have seen that the base RT will NOT however have a power adjustable rear shock (standard only underneath the seat). Does anybody know if the base RT model will...

    RT Bad Pulley

Thanks to all for your comments. One of the concerns on this thread was that belt tension may have had an effect on the degradation of the pulley. From my viewpoint, holding the pulley in my hand, knowing the history of the bike, knowing the mechanics involved (including myself) it is my...

    RT Bad Pulley

I'll try to get a measurement tomorrow both off the ground and on the ground with the Kricket gage.[/........ Not sure but I think Ron ( of BAJARON ) had a conversion comparison for the two ..... so folks would know what their Kritket was telling them .... annnnnnd it makes no sense to me...

    RT Bad Pulley

Mike - Won't have a chance to verify belt tension today but hopefully tomorrow. Did look up OEM spec on tension in shop manual and it states 1050 ±150 Newtons. That works out to 236 ±34 lbs. That is a measurement at room temp, rear tire off the ground, (3) separate wheel locations (all 3...

    RT Bad Pulley

Mike - Internet connection back up. I'm going to try to get around to checking the belt tension as the mechanic has most recently set it after replacing the pulley. According to my notes when I last had the rear wheel off for mounting a new tire, the required settings that I recorded came...

    RT Bad Pulley

Internet connection down. Responding from phone. Belt tension with Kricket gage. My notes show 240 lbs when on the ground according to my notes from last rear tire change. Mechanic made no mention of belt tension.

    RT Bad Pulley

Yes, the dealer must keep the part for 30 days to satisfy warranty requirements. The wear was very consistent around the entire diameter. The mechanic, to the best of my knowledge, did not find any problem with the bolt holding the pulley in place. The difference between the wear toward each...

    RT Bad Pulley

The shop did a great job and this weekend we pack for our 2500 mile vacation on the bike. Life is good.

    RT Bad Pulley

The mechanic stated that he thought that the part had "missed the heat treat operation". I informed him that I work for a commercial heat treat facility and have access to the Rockwell hardness testing machines necessary to take some hardness readings on the part. Of course, we don't know what...

    RT Bad Pulley

The bike is a 2015 RT-S SE6. Mileage is a bit over 15,000. Front Pulley had to be replaced. Three months out of stock warranty. BEST warranty says it's a "wear item" so it won't cover it. BRP did step up with a "Good Will" coverage so Thank You, BRP. A shout out to Escondido Cycle Center...

    Tires & Brakes

Mike - No, I didn't take note of "front, rear, left, right" or anything but I did put them all together and took this picture. Maybe you can tell visually where each pad was by it's tang configuration.

    Tires & Brakes

Had a bit of an experience this past weekend. Wanted to pass it along in case it helps anybody. 2015 RTS SE6 with 15,190 miles. Decided to get rid of stock front tires (yes, they still had about 1/3 tread left, just don't like them) and went with Federal Formoza AZ01. Decided at the same...

I started with the BRP adjustable wings to try to get some heat relief here in Southern California. They do move some air, you can feel the difference, but it wasn't a whole bunch. We then got the Baker Air Wings: Spyder RT New Gen. Air Wings w/Uppers Item# SPYRTAWUPNG , Mounting Hardware...

    Farkle Fever, new mod advicell

Regarding snapping off the stud on the Ram ball, I had the same problem. I then realized that there are Ram balls with 1/4" x 20 aluminum threads (I think p/n RAM-B-237U) that are used for camera mounting and then there are Ram "Tough-Balls" that have threaded steel studs. Go to the Ram Mounts...

RT Ltd SE 6 Road Trip Luggage Capacity

I just used that listing because I knew I could find an example quickly at REI to share to describe what I was talking about. Once you know what to look for they are all over the Internet in a variety of sizes. My experience is that you probably want a couple more of the larger sizes rather...
