• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Hater at the bike show

Yep, Old folks Guess that's why while waiting for a bunch of grade school kids to cross, I got 'several' thumbs up and a couple of 3 fingers! Good to see they are growing up right

    Different way to haul Spyder

I agree with you about airflow. I followed this rig for about 10 miles and never saw the cover flapping.

No purple duct tape with black spyders for me this year at Spyderfest

SAAWEEET!!! Love the color. (oh yea, same as mine) Can't beat freehand pinstripes. Tastefully done and personal. Won't see another one like it. Hope to make it to Spyderfest. I'll be looking for it

    Different way to haul Spyder

You can't see it in photo, but it looked like there was a ramp crosswise under the front wheels

    Different way to haul Spyder

    My New RT !!!!

Congrats!!! :congrats: I REALLY like it! I ride a twin. 2014 Cognac Spyder. NOT the other meaning of twin. I have no regrets coming off a Goldwing trike to Spydie.

Can't decide between a Spyder RT or a Harley/Honda Trike. HELP

I had a Honda trike that needed warranty work and had no problems. Any trike trouble should be a seperate warranty by the mfg of the kit. If you have trouble, it would be the dealer. But that is NOT the reason I came from a Honda trike to the Spyder. If I have to explain, you would'nt...

    Cognac paint?

Has anyone in the US actually bought 2014 Cognac color paint? I have the PPG number and local PPG paint shops say it's only available in water base. That takes special equipment to spray. I want to build a trailer and paint it to match my Spyder. Just about ready to take a panel in and see if...

    Pull trailers

Small trailer? Nope This is my 3rd one. Morbid? Unique? WTF? They got a LOT of attention and comments. (Mostly positive). My take is it is a large metal box on wheels. Long? Yes. Heavy? No. Less than 200# empty. It will get painted Cognac. The pic of 2 leaving my drive is father/son that bought...

All I can say is WOW!!

Congrats!! Like you I have MANY years on bikes and was impressed with the '14 Spyder to the point of 'it followed me home!' Unlike the tachs of most bikes, I had to look closely to see the outer ring changes colors at 7500 RPM. I have not revved it that tight (yet) as it is still on break in...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

It was fun and a little challenging. I was disappointed in the views (lack of). I was not out to set any speed records, just enjoy it for what it was. I rode Tuesday and traffic was light. Still a few kamikaze's but not that bad. Like the mountains, and will go back for other roads like the...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

Well, I rode the dragon 4 times. Down and back with Mrs. Down and back solo. Yes it is a lot of turns and Spyder gave arms a workout. Did give "Nanny" a workout also. She shut me down at times I 'thought' things were in control, but may have been for the best. Also rode afew other backroads that...

    2014 MPG!!!

After reading some MPG reports, I was a little worried about getting a Spyder. BUT, 1st 240 miles I got 39.4. Next 160 miles figured 42.1!!! AND that's playing with it. I mean I 'ride it like I stole it' . It also impresses fellow riders I can roll away from a stop, twist the throttle and it...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

The 'mystic' of the Dragon. For me the draw to ride the Dragon is 1-that many turns in such a short ride. Illinois has 11curves in 318 miles. 2-To see firsthand what all the hype is about. I don't believe the Dragon has 'killed' anyone. Stupidity yes. Not the road. Plan on riding lesser known...

Any tips for taming the 'Dragon'?

Just got a NEW 14 RT-S (Cognac) SM6 and like it A LOT. She's stock and there won't be enough time to even put a BajaRon bar on before going to the Tail of the Dragon. Any tips for the run, BESIDES be careful and watch speed?

    Backrest mod

Slick job but is your backrest secured to the slide in mount? How?

Going for a demo day test ride, any things to look for?

Yup, I went for a test ride of a RT-S(manual shift) and it followed me home. I was on a Goldwing trike but found the RT 'MUCH' easier to steer, softer ride, and QUICKER! The only thing I found is on corners it's oversteers a little. My trike wanted to straighten out all the time but the Spyder...

    Spyder vs trike

Honda trike to Sppyder I just went from a GL 1500 Lehman trike to the 2014 RT-S. Trike had the back axle mounted so you got up/down travel but no sideways. By this I mean if one rear wheel hit something (rock, bump, hole) it would jerk the trike sideways. Steering was tough on trike as it always...
