• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Was fun, but time to move on....

So, the time has come. The wife traded in her her 2012 RT-SE5 towards a Subaru Crosstrek. She just never really rode the Spyder as much as she thought she would. To cold, nope! Same with to hot. To say she was a fair weather rider is a understatement. We ended up taking the Burgman on almost all...

    998 ENGINE HEAD GASKETS

Rotax motors as a whole are bullet proof, but I know that a bit of "seepage" is considered normal. Ours has a few damp spots but I just put it down to Rotax sealing quality. Im not worrying about it on our Spyder unless the smells get overpowering, then I will fix it myself. We have a 2012...

Fuel Leak 2012 Limited Tour Spyder

Sorta sure there was a fuel cap service bulletin about the gas cap, something about it having a red(ish)-orange sealing ring underneath. Ours had the updated cap already installed.

    Sheffield Financial and Financing

New/used? Good/bad credit? Got our used RT at 2.0% thru the sales guy's credit union (he "sponsored" us). Was originally told 2.5%-was even happier with 2% when I went to pick it up. This rate was with zero down with a lovely credit score. Shop around as that sound high to me.

    heat thru the seat

No heat thru the seat on our RT, but my wife complains about the heat from the radiator vent trying to melt her right leg while riding on the back. Im not Mr. Safety so I noticed it also while wearing shorts on the back, but not as bad with jeans on. Yes, I ride on the back while the wife...

    2016 RT-S Special

The whole matte black craze reminds me of when my 2000 Yamaha Zuma got stolen. It left in wonderful Yamaha blue and came back matte black, the thieves even painted the grips and seat! Remember when Japan was all about the translucent panels in colors? I wish that trend would catch on again! I...

2012 RTSE5 stalling at take off. FUN in heavy traffic!

All done and sealed back up! Runs feakin' GREAT! I'm basking in the success of doing it myself with some donuts. Its the little things in life. Anyways, now I have to find out what Service Bulletin(s) have and have not been done. Im the 2nd owner and the dealership did register it with BRP BUT...

    Go Pro Cameras

I too was supposed to get one (GoPro) for Xmass from my wife BUT I cashed out my credit card points before switching banks and got one with the points. Luckily the wife did not buy one yet, and I told her she could just hold it till Xmass and give it to me then, but she said no-enjoy it now...

2012 RTSE5 stalling at take off. FUN in heavy traffic!

Thanks for the link. I did not find that info with the search engine option, think it has more to do with my computer skills than with the site. I ordered the hoses Frank showed from NAPA, strange that the hoses were not in stock. Will have the wifes Spyder back up and running this Wed. Thanks...

2012 RTSE5 stalling at take off. FUN in heavy traffic!

FINALLY got the hoses found and removed. Rear hose looked good, front one was cracking. What size have you all found for the MAP hoses? NAPA had 1/8th inch fuel line hose but it does not fit very tight. O'Riely's had Prime Line clear (part#7-081532) but its to small of a diameter. Have fuel hose...

2012 RTSE5 stalling at take off. FUN in heavy traffic!

Got the panels off but the bugs are coming out so I hung it up for the day. Found 1 of 2? of the MAPS hoses, and they "look" good. Manual states the correct length so I may replace it/them anyways to play it safe. Has anyone made a home version of the BUBS hook-up yet so you can check everything...

2012 RTSE5 stalling at take off. FUN in heavy traffic!

Bike has 13,532 miles and it recently started this craziness. The "check engine" will flash at random during take off/first gear only (no flash pattern, just random flicker). Oil level is good. Fuel tank is not overfilled. Then it started cutting off at random during take off. Now it started...

    Shorter rider input needed.

My wife is starting to take a liking to the 2012 RT-SE5, but at 5'1" she finds the arm reach to long and would like a backrest that is "adjustable". We are thinking of pulling the trigger on the adjustable handlebars that BRP sells ($650!) and a Utopia backrest (adjust forward in the video)...

Doing something stupid and/or crazy today (ice related), wish me luck.

My boss told me about the Zip Grips, obviously AFTER my little sliding experiment. Will have to look into them for emergency use. He said he found them on Kickstarter and that they were kinda expensive. I did carry a big tupper bowl of cat litter, which has saved me a lot when I drove 18...

    College Student Writing a Paper

I ride scooters most of the time, my wife rides the Spyder. I do grab the Spyder keys when I can, as I find it kinda fun to ride (in its own way) compared to a two wheeler. A lot of people become a 2 Spyder family, but I still like my scooter just a tad bit more. On the Spyder I think the gas...

Doing something stupid and/or crazy today (ice related), wish me luck.

The Spyder and I survived! Most of the roads were very clear, but the ones that did not get plowed stunk! If I put the front tires into the car tracks then the back wheel kept sliding around, and if I put the rear wheel in the cleared track then the front wheels went all over the place. Didn't...

Doing something stupid and/or crazy today (ice related), wish me luck.

I have to go back to work today after two days off because of dreaded snow. What's so stupid about that you say? I have to take the Spyder, on icy/nasty/treated roads! I know what all of you are thinking-Not in a million years!-and I agree, but I don't have a car and the Buddy 125 scooter with a...

Part # for a shop manual needed. I already searched...

My local Spyder dealer is who I ordered the manual from. They know its a 2012 RT, and that is what I ordered. At least I'm not the only one who has the 219 100 536 Shop Manual for a 2012 RT. Now I did email BRP customer service to ask them what the correct part # should have been AND to inform...
