• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New main computer, odometer reset to Zero - any way to reset to show proper milage?

There were several other incidents around that time where the mechanics went under the Tupperware to fix one thing, and caused another problem. The odometer was the last straw.

New main computer, odometer reset to Zero - any way to reset to show proper milage?

Because "it must've been about to fail. Yeah, that's the story!" I'm not kidding. The last three times these bozos went under the Tupperware, they fixed one thing but broke something else. They couldn't even change the rear tire without damaging the bike. That's why I'm trying to sell it...

New main computer, odometer reset to Zero - any way to reset to show proper milage?

My dealer was working on my machine (2014 RTS) and fried the main computer (which I had to pay for). Something about checking CANBUS. The new box reset my odometer to zero. Is there any way to go into the system (BUDS maybe?) and add back my original accumulated mileage? This is a sore...

    The caliber of my dealership

My local dealer can't even change the rear tire without damaging the machine.

Looks like it's time to give up the ride - thoughts fm others who've faced this?

I've come to the same conclusion -- time to give it up -- but for a different reason: abysmal dealer support. A bit over a year ago I took my 2014 RT-S in for some work, and the dealer really effed things up (and, of course, I had to pay $$ for his mistake). In the end, he only kinda/sorta...

Spyder enjoyment vs. experience of ownership

My dealer experience is such that I'm seriously considering selling my Spyder. It's to the point that if they have to go under the Tupperware, it's likely they will screw something up. My wife said I could buy a new one, but why should I, when they can't maintain the one I've got?

Doing my first Iron Butt tonight!

Has any Spyder run the big, four-corners-of-the-US, 11 day Ironbutt? You're allowed to install an auxiliary fuel tank (but IIRC, it's limited to X percentage of the stock tank). Just wondering how a Spyder would cope.

Your experience/thoughts on Spyder vs Other Trikes?

I have a 2014 RT-S, and I'm considering moving to a Tri-Glide for one simple but very important reason: Harley dealers know how to maintain their product. My local Can-Am dealer raped my Spyder last summer. While trying to troubleshoot a rear suspension compressor problem, they swapped out the...

What was BRP Thinking on the 2022 models and placement of the brake pedal?

I'm 5' 7" with a 30" inseam. I noticed the same thing when I sat on a 2021 RT. I had to scoot forward in the seat a bit to comfortably touch the pedal.

    What is the difference between the '14, '15, & '16 RT's?

Based on my experience, I'd avoid a 2014. The 2014s had a lot of teething problems. DAMHIKT.

Front Sprocket Again - filed an NHTSA Complaint

While we're on this topic, has anyone ever filed a complaint with the NHTSA over the substandard Kenda tires?

Ride comparison between previous and current generation RTs

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback. All useful. Haven't decided yet what to do. Kamjam -- the spider is a golden silk spider, one of a family sometimes called banana spiders because of their obviously large abdomens. I took that picture in my back yard; the spider was slightly smaller than...

rear tire valve stem >:-/ - any ideas how to actually add air!?

A few months back my dealer installed a new tire. When they remounted the wheel to the bike, they aligned it such that the tire valve was directly behind one of the drive pulley's spokes. Totally inaccessible. They remounted the wheel for free.

Ride comparison between previous and current generation RTs

I have a 2014 RTS. Is there any real difference in ride comfort and handling between the 2014-2019 RTs and the current generation? I've never been thrilled with the ride and handling; my RTS still feels choppy. Coming off a BMW, it's like moving from a Miata to a Ford F-250 dually. It gets...

Honda's pulling the plug on the Gold Wing (and Yamaha on the FJR)

From what I gather from the article (and the linked article therein), if it's manufactured in Japan, it must meet Japanese emission requirements. They should have left Gold Wing production in Nebraska.

Honda's pulling the plug on the Gold Wing (and Yamaha on the FJR)

They can't tweak the engine any further to comply with ever-tightening pollution requirements, and it isn't fiscally viable to create a new engine. https://www.ericpetersautos.com/2022/08/04/more-news-youve-probably-not-heard/

So, I got back from the dealer...... Update!

Final update: The tech who changed the tire spooged the tension adjustment on the belt. Dealer came through on his promises. All's good and my Spyder is back home. Just to be safe, I'll limit myself to short rides for a while, though.

So, I got back from the dealer...... Update!

Friday A.M. update: I called the dealer as soon as they opened. Owner/manager not in today, so I got the service manager. I described the problem. "I'll send someone out immediately and pick it up. We'll make this right." 45 minutes later, a tech showed and we got it on the trailer. He looked...
