• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance

Read it in the late 70’s, then picked up the audible version a few years back. I agree with what has been said so far, it’s a depressing read. I do agree that the more you work on something, the better you understand it, whether it is mechanical or electrical in nature. FWIW, I’ve been...

    Mirror Turn Signal Lights.

I used a pair of cheap, yellow LEDs and used a set of connectors to create a y in the circuit. The feed from the bus splits and feeds both the mirror lights and my add on LEDs. If the add on LEDs ever require replacing (or a dealer gets snooty about add ins causing a problem) I can remove them...

Our New RV Is Being Built...

We’ve got Good Sam roadside assistance. They wouldn’t even send the truck until they had the correct tire on board. Granted we ended up with a HDT tire instead of the RV tire but it was a drive tire so all went well. I don’t know about you but I would not want to attempt to pull a 150 pound...

Which is best for storage this winter?

Part of the equation depends on where you live. We have a large lake near us so pure gas is available at the local QuikTrip. Fill, treat, then store.

Enclosed trailer size for 2 f3s?

We pull a trailer behind the motorbike. Usually take the dogs and a cat so we don’t have to pay for boarding. Get tired of driving? Switch drivers. Want to take a nap? Pull off at the next rest stop. Too many advantages and none of the pain of riding both spyders both ways.

Why We Live Where We Do

Grew up on a farm in SW OH. Moved to Columbus for college. 18 years later, moved to Atlanta for work. Still there Love the mild winters but hate the traffic. Cost of living isn’t too bad compared to other cities of similar size but did I say I hate the traffic? SWMBO wants to move closer to...

    HID (not LED)

BRP sold a replacement headlight for the 2010-2012 RT. Pricing was around $700. It included the reflector, lens and the bulb and ballast/igniter. There are a couple of people here that installed these on a 2014 RT but had to create a mounting bezel as the mounting tabs differed from the pre ‘13...

Something to carry my dog in???

Or, get a sidecar rig to haul the dog. Not as much fun for you but the dog gets a great view from the chair.

Something to carry my dog in???

I’m in a similar situation. Little Wolf goes into the Pet Palace on SWMBO’s RT. I have to get the 20 pound Jack Russell mix into the back of my RT. The Beast Rider is the only thing out there made for the larger dogs. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1653532608018230&ref=content_filter...

    Going Blind....not really

After looking at the Dual Eye wear pricing, I feel rather good about buying Radians landscaping glasses with built in cheaters. I don’t feel bad when I trash a $15 pair of readers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000I6OYF8/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_api_e3ykBbYQ1RSQP

    Hot weather Northern ryder

I’ve not been riding in the heat lately due to health issues but here’s my take on the subject after 24 years in GA. As it it has been said above, cover yourself in breathable gear. I’ve used mesh gear from Joe Rocker but other mfg’s have good gear. I use a coolmax helmet liner to pull sweat...

Any other Spyder riders in the Atlanta area want to get together?

Hi Richard, There is a Facebook page to help you connect. FWIW, the group has not been very active but you might come up with a few people willing to ride with you. We are in Suwanee but my medical condition keeps me off the Spyder until outdoor temps are 70 or below. I’ve run across a...

    Portable GPS Questions

That’s the reason I voiced a concern over USB power. At 5 VDC, it’s going to draw 2.5 times the current that a 12 VDC powered unit would, keeping power draw the same for the two units. Hope that the TomTom works for you.
