• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

G'day from Down Under - what to look for in a high milage Spyder?

Uncle Earnest, if you end with an older spyder with the 998cc V-twin, there two things to keep any eye on: 1. Oil level - the V twin likes to sip a little oil (not excessively). 2. Throttle body vacuum lines - the OEM rubber vacuum lines do not last. They get warm under the plastics and...

998cc 2015 ST won't start easily, but will finally - any ideas?

Check your battery. Engine off battery should read 12.6V DC minimum. Running voltage across battery is supposed to be 13.5 to 14.5 VDC @ 4000 RPM. (These values are for my 2019 F3 LTD). I would also monitor Battery voltage while turning on key and pressing start button. Battery test per 2019...

P280A/P0730 codes causing a head scratcher - anyone shed some light?

Quick update to my post above (I already edited the post)....A Code P0730 means the reported position is NOT plausible. My apologies for leaving out the NOT. I am guessing the GBPS is reporting a false state (transmission shift position did happen or did not travel to a correct position)...

P280A/P0730 codes causing a head scratcher - anyone shed some light?

IAW the Cam Spyder F3 service manual, Code P0730 means the reported position is NOT plausible. Most of the time this error is from a bad Gear Position Sensor. If the shop replaced it, I would have them check the reverse shift actuator and its linkage physical alignment. It sticks down at an...

Does the Direction of Travel show on the Dash? 2019 F3 Ltd

The closest you can get is to install BRP Go! app on your cell and use a compatible app. I use Genius maps and you do get a rough direction indicator when you have the app on in BRP connect and your phone connected to the bike via the USB cable. It was a bit costly, but, it does show the maps...

What could be causing this “Runaway” motor??

The older 998 V-twins also had a problem with the vacuum lines coming off of the throttle bodies. The OEM lines were rubber and over time the heat will cause them to crack and leak. Usually when you get a vacuum leak around throttle bodies or carburetors the additional air results in a higher...

Please: Newbie needs help with BRP Connect?!?

You have uncovered one of very the few poor pieces of engineering for the Can AM Spyders. I think the bike is great, their cell phone to bike software (BRP Go) stinks! I have 2019 F3 limited I bought new. It took me some time to get the apps working with my Samsung Note 20 Ultra, bit I...

    Charging GPS issues

If the GPS is the same age as the bike, there is a good probability that the battery is at the end of its life. For some portable devices (your GPS in this case) if the batteries are dead, the device will not work if battery cannot hold a charge. Step 1. Plug your GPS into a wall charger and...

Newbie here, love my Spyder but died this morning, any ideas... THANK YOU

Two things: 1. Recommend you buy an on-line service manual (if you prefer doing your own maintenance). 2. Find all of the ground points. There are more than one. Remove the cables and clean the connectors and the frame surface and use a good conductive grease etc. to help prevent future...
