• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Agreed. I am glad I found the connector I did, even with the reverse polarity which is simple enough to fix. I absolutely did not want to cut the GPS harness which I know a lot of people have done.

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Just to wrap things up with my initial inquiry in this thread, here are a couple of photos that shows how to wire the GPS harness in the 2016 Spyder RTS to the Garmin Zumo XT. First, I went online and purchased a 2 pin connector so that I did NOT have to cut the GPS harness. I then used a...

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Just an update on this. I checked the GPS harness wires with a multi-meter and here are the results: Green / Black Wire - Measured 012 (which I assume is the power wire) Green / Yellow Wire - Continuity Beep (which I assume is the ground wire) Looking at the GPS harness connector and the 2...

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Any concerns with this connector? On the 2016 RT-S, the wires on the GPS harness are as follows - One wire is Green/Yellow and the other wire is Green/Black. My question is, which one is power and which is ground? Also, I just bought this 2 way connector to plug into it, so I will be wiring...

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

This was very helpful. Here is the 2 way connector that I just bought. It states that it will work with motorcycles, so hopefully the polarity won't be a problem. Thanks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/353754136883

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

I heard back from LaMonster Garage and the Plug-N-Play harness is indeed only for 2020+. I've done more researching and it looks like the GPS should not be wired to the battery (so you don't kill it) but instead to a switched power source. I saw a video where they said to wire the Garmin to...

Best way of Connecting Garmin XT to GPS Harness - 2016 RT?

Hi Everyone, I have researched this online and on the forum and am not clear on this topic. I am purchasing a Garmin Zumo XT for my 2016 RTS and I would like to power it using the GPS harness that is under the seat. I know that LaMonster Garage has a Plug-N-Play harness for the 2020+ RT and...

Anyone have an ISCI hand brake system on a 2014 RT-S? Need fitting info/advice?

I installed the ISCI handbrake on my 2016 RT-S last summer. Here is a link where I have some photos. The hand brake install is about half way down the page. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?143767-Finally-Found-a-2016-Spyder-RT-S-SM6

    Got my Magic Mirrors!

I installed the magic mirrors last year as well and can't believe I wasn't aware of them before. They make maintenance so much easier. They ware worth every penny.

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

Correct. All 3 were done. They had it for 2 days to do the work. I know they said that BRP says that it is an hour job though. Over the winter, I verified it myself and saw no issues, but since it is under recall now, I want it fixed and definitely want to go through the dealership. I am...

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

I was told that they were checking for tolerance to see if it was in spec.

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

Yes, my thoughts as well, as many places have more than 1 supplier for parts. I assume this part is not serialized, but you would think that it is tracked by a LOT #. It seems that they should know which Spyders are affected.

Front Sprocket Recall - Interim Repair Completed

After receiving the recall letter in late June, I called my dealer to schedule the interim repair procedure for July 6th. I just picked it up today and what they found was that my sprocket passed the testing with no movement. I have a 2016 RT-S with 6400 miles, so I am not totally surprised...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I've been following this problem since we bought our 2016 RTS last year and am very happy to see that BRP is doing the right thing here. My odometer is only at 6200 miles, so I am confident that I will survive the wait for the final fix ... fingers crossed that is.

How many miles do you have on a recall pulley/sprocket?

I have a 2016 RTS with 6200 miles, which I know is nothing. We just bought it a year ago with low miles and I have been checking the sprocket every few months. I did get a recall letter but am hoping that with such low mileage, I won't have a problem waiting for the permanent fix.

    Finally Found a 2016 Spyder RT-S SM6

OK. Here is my last update from the winter and it is my favorite. I have always hated the black rims that come on the RT-S. My favorite rims were the ones that came on the 2015 Special Series RT. I hunted for a used set, but no luck and even tried to price them new, but could not acquire a...

    Finally Found a 2016 Spyder RT-S SM6

This is the best picture I have for the next update, but it is the OEM vented windscreen. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but if you look at the initial pictures that I posted when we bought this last summer, you will notice that it had an aftermarket vented windscreen that was tinted...

    Finally Found a 2016 Spyder RT-S SM6

Knowing how much money and updates that the previous owner had put in to this Spyder and knowing that they put the Elka shocks on the front of it, I was shocked that find out that he didn't put one on the rear. Bummer. So that went on the winter list of updates. Here are a couple of photos...

    Finally Found a 2016 Spyder RT-S SM6

After purchasing the RT-S last summer, we were only able to put about 900 miles on it before winter. I just finished the winter updates that we wanted to make to the Spyder so that we can get an early start on the riding season up here in the Northeast. I have rolled 3 updates in to these two...
