• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Powering a GPS from the front glove compartment USB

Can you tell me what the cable is called or how you found it. I have searched the Garmin site without success. I am trying to connect a Garmin DriveSmart 60 to the front USB port. Thanks

louder muffler that uses original header pipe ?

Akropovic I replaced the stock pipe with an Akropovic which gives the Spyder a deeper tone and a little more volume. Very pleasant sound. If you want a little more volume, the baffles come out easily, but can easily be reinstalled if you don't like the result. I keep mine in or out without...

    Removing baffles from Akropovich exhause

I generally keep my baffles in, but, sometimes I like to take them out. They can be reinstalled without the screws. I find that with both of them out, it is a little louder than I want at times. So, I sometimes take one out and that is ok too. Bottom line is, if I take them out, I just keep...

    Power for GPS

I'm sure you want to do this as reasonably as possible. However, for my 13 RTS SE5, I bought the GPS support and harness, which gives you power as well as adding the audio to your Spyder system. Works great. You might check on this. I just found one on ebay for $100...

What did Can-Am do to the 2013s?

My dealer opined that the relocation of the battery blocked airflow to the engine. :dontknow:

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

Dave, Actually, it was not there before the acoustic panel was removed. When I reinstalled half of the acoustic panels, there is plastic that wraps around behind the hole and closes almost all of it. You may be looking at another area. What I am talking about is the area behind the spot on...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

One additional thing I have noticed, is that by removing the acoustic panels, a hole has been created that allows hot air to vent toward the rider. If you will check on the right side (similar to where the gas cap is on the left) there is a hole you can almost put your hand through. I had...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

I took a 50 mile ride this morning before the heat set in. The air temp was 89 and the Spyder temp read 93. The glove box and panels were only warm. I agree that the 103 temp I rode in earlier was probably why the box and panels were hot. Motorcycles are inherently hot beasts, especially...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

Actually, I had removed the acoustic panels as soon as the recall details were released. So they were gone before the recall was done. It is puzzling to me as well, but I need to ride more to see what is going on. I was just reporting my initial impressions. I still think they have clogged...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

I have the airbox removed, cat delete, had the canister removed, wrapped the left header pipe (because it went under the gas tank) and had the Vertika vents installed. With all that done, I had no heat at the glove box or the side panels while the Spyder was moving. When I put my hand on those...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

Solution Ok, there is a tab about the size of a quarter, located in the center section of the grill at the end toward the Spyder. A screwdriver pops it out to reveal one bolt. The vent itself is mounted to the side panel with screws and does not need to come off. Once I took off the side...

How to remove the upper side panel where the vents are attached

I know I read a thread where someone asked about removing the side panel once the new vents are installed, but I cannot find the thread again. My recall was done today and I want to look under the hood to see what is different. With my Vertika vents, all one had to do was remove the side panel...

    Recall Campaign Completed

Mine is in the shop today for the recall work. I had already been using the Vertica Trike vents, which clearly takes care of the heat while riding. Vertica vents are fiberglass and very substantial compared to the BRP vents, which are plastic. But, the concept is the same, so I have no doubt...

    Ready to cry...Spyder fire

Thankfully, you and your son were not hurt. I read the current recall procedure, but didn't see any reference to any further changes to the brake master cylinder. My recall has not been performed yet (scheduled next Monday) so I can't look at mine. If the OP did have the earlier master...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

I have no idea why he would say it looks a lot like the F3. It does not. I was at my dealer today (to pick up my new 2013 Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad 1700). I asked if they had ordered parts to fix my Spyder. He said, oh yes, we have the parts, but we will not even be starting to do the recall...
