• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What to look for when buying a used Spyder (2012)?

I like my 2012 I own a 2012 Limited that I purchased in the spring of 2013. I have just short of 20,000 trouble free miles on it in three riding season. With less than 1K miles on the machine your looking at I can't imagine anything mechanically wrong with it internally that a test drive...

    Microphone Wind Noise

Mic Issue I own a 2012 Spyder LTD. There is so much wind coverage on the LTD that I opted for 3/4 helmets. I'm using the Sena SM10 bluetooth and the SMH10 headsets. Everything works fine until I get over 35 MPH so I don't think it's interference. The idea of covering the front of the mic...

    Microphone Wind Noise

Mic direction Yup, did that on both micrphone mounts. Replaced both microphone foam muffs too. I'm going to try the balloon idea. If it doesn't work it's an inexpensive experiment. Right now where I live the temp is around zero with a foot of snow on the ground. It's going to be a while before...

    Microphone Wind Noise

I'd given up using my helmet intercom headsets due to the annoying crackling from the wind noise. I found a possible solution on a different forum that was posted years ago. It involves covering the microphones with a small balloon. According to the post the balloon could be placed over the...

Spyder vs. Conventional Trike - What are the Biggest Differences?

Kept me off the asphalt Shortly after purchasing my Spyder I was riding out of a small town. I was behind a compact car with their right blinker on suggessting that they would be turrning into a subdivision. Instead of turning the driver of the car decided to make a uturn in the road directly...

    Smart Chargers

BatteyMinder I used the BatteryMinder Plus model 12117 during my test and on my Spyder. In my aviation past I recalled the name BatteryMinder from back in the 1970s. FAA approved aviation batteries were pricey. Anything you could do make them last longer was a good thing. Also unlike an...

    Smart Chargers

Just a heads up for those of you interested in maintaining your battery. I work at a store where we sell L&G tractors. In my opinion we sell way to many batteries. Part of the reason is that on small engines you have what amounts to a trickle charging system. Add to that that in Wisconsin these...

First order of business for Spyder RT-S SE5 newbie

2nd order of business I have a 2012 Limited. The 12's have stock driver footpegs. After riding for a while the inabilty to move my feet around was translating into a lower back pain. I purchased a set of floorboards and installed them this spring. What a difference. Much more comfortable ride...

    I am going nuts!!

Going nuts You're not alone my friend. I like the visibility contrast offered by the Lava Brown but there are traction problems. I guess it makes you appreciate those summer days we can ride even more. Last summer I recall how miserable it felt riding for 20 miles in the rain. Now I look back...

    2014 Test Drive

Spyder Bite I think the official term for the mental condition that you and others that take demo rides should be coined "Spyder Bites". It happened to me over a year ago. I took a demo ride in October 2012. Bought my Spyder in April 2013. Making the purchase is the only cure for a Spyder...

    any spyders in racine wi

Wonderful trip I've been fortunate enough to have put quite a few miles on this summer traveling Wisconsin. It's been my experience that the best ride is always the next one. This ride we just took to North Freedom will be hard to top but somehow I know it will be. I think we would have been...

    any spyders in racine wi

Riding to North Freedom Hi guys, I'm planning on riding up to North Freedom, WI which is just West of Baraboo, WI this Sunday, Oct 13, 2013. The Mid-Continent Railway has color rides through the Baraboo River Valley. It's a 3 hour ride from Salem, WI. Figure a little over three hours with gas...

    Accident Avoided - Thanks BRP

Yes I was riding alone. I would guess that if I would have had a passenger they too would have been OK had they been holding on to the grab handles or me (Which is the usual case). The instant the driver of the car decided to initiate that uturn I'm guessing that I was in their blind spot to the...

    Accident Avoided - Thanks BRP

I purchased a Spyder RT first and foremost for safety reasons. I haven't ridden a cycle for 30 years. Back then I was on 2 wheels and had a car pull away from a stop sign in front of me. Totaled the bike but luckily I walked away unhurt. I figured that I had burnt up enough lives so I would try...

    Traffic Light Question For Motorcycles

At work today I asked several of my automobile driving friends if they were aware of the fact that a motorcycle may not have enough metal to activate turn signal lights. Since none of them drive two wheelers they looked at me like I was telling a joke and they were waiting for the punch line. I...

    Traffic Light Question For Motorcycles

After reading a couple of responses I did some internet investigating on these wires (that I didn't know were there) and I question why this phenomenon isn't brought up in the operators manual. I'm not new to motorcycles but it has been close to thirty years between rides. I guess back in the...
