• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at 2018 F3 S with manual transmission - will I be unhappy leaving an SE5 for an SM6?

I would think that you might be unhappy with a manual transmission coming off of a semi-auto.

Which AfterMarket fuel filter do you use for your F3?

I have used a fuel filter from CarQuest. Part # 86095.

What is your plan for Replacement batteries for the Canyon?

If you measure the dimensions on the factory Canyon battery and then take them to an auto store they may have a similar size or smaller with 350 CCA's that would work. Like you I would feel more comfortable with a 350 CCA battery.

Is it possible that BRP Corporate records on the Sprocket Recall have not been updated?

    Two years ago I paid $15,500 for a 2020 F3LTD with 9,200 miles. I would say the ‘17 would be worth $13K.

"Check Key" Msg on display - Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

For anyone that gets a “Check Key” message I would highly recommend that you get the DESS disabled by someone who has BUDS, such as a dealer willing to do it, or an independent shop. You may eventually get stranded. Also, replacing the DESS module is very expensive. Better to have it disabled...

Wish I had not gone with a Vredestien Tire

My independent Spyder shop did not have a rear Vredestein tire last year when it was time for a new tire. I went with the General Altimax tire. But I have several friends that have the V 205/60/R15 on the rear of their Spyders and they are very happy with the tire.

Almost back in the saddle - who else is still here from 2012-13?

I joined the forum in 2013 just as I was buying a new 2013 ST-S. Now I am on my third Spyder, a 2020 F3 LTD. I have racked up 124,000 miles on the three Spyders so far.

In Memory of those Members who are now riding the Forever Road - RIP

So sorry to hear the news. A friend of mine bought Dwayne's 2019 F3 LTD in September of '23 and I bought his wife Linda's 2020 F3 LTD in October of '23. They were both very nice people. We also had lunch with them last May at the Hot Springs Spyder rally. His commentary on this forum was...

Installing PedalBox has increased idle speed to 1000-1050 - will this damage anything? Anyone else notice this?

I have a 2020 F3-Ltd with a pedalbox that I installed myself. No change in idle RPM.

Did my own 3000 mile oil change - not a big deal

I agree with ned64 about torquing oil plugs. Be very careful. Once I get my plugs done finger tight I give them about a 1/8 to 1/4 turn with my wrench. Never had an oil leak at the plugs nor a broken plug. I also replaced the OEM plugs with hex head plugs. Much easier.

How many States require a Motorcycle Endorsement for Spyders?

I live in Tennessee and a motorcycle license or endorsement is required. I moved from NC five months ago and had a motorcycle endorsement from that State also. When I moved to Tennessee I did not have to take a written, vision, or driving/riding test to transfer my endorsement.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Ten days ago I rode to BajaRon’s shop and had a cat delete installed with baffle. I kept the original muffler. The sound is great but not too loud.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Last week I had BajaRon install a Cat delete pipe with baffle. I kept my OEM muffler. I love the low rumble sound.

My First Spyder - F3S. But the brakes need a really hard push, is this normal?

I would check the brake fluid level and also the depth of the brake pads. And since the Spyder is a '21 it would be prudent to flush the brake system and add new brake fluid.

F3-T third service at ~15k miles

I noticed your location and you are about 3.5 hours from BajaRon's shop in Greeneville, TN. If you make an appointment for an oil change you can be there and home in one day. Ron recommends and uses Amsoil with his customers. It is a great oil and he also carries the oil filter kits. Call...

Only One Oil Plug on 2024 RT?

I would not be concerned about torquing the oil drain plugs. Just snug them up tight and use a new metal washer for both plugs. I have heard of owners breaking off drain plug heads by over tightening. I use the hex head plugs and just tighten snugly with my socket wrench. Have never had a...
