• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    How Do You Ride?

I like the "Open road" and especially since I'm in my seventies and retired, I prefer to slow down a bit and prefer to find a "bubble" of less traffic to travel in. While I greatly prefer the open secondary roads outside of the metros here in Colorado, traveling on I-25 or occasionally I-70...

Cannot get the rear pulley to seat properly - any ideas?

After wiping out the dirty grease, and lightly greasing the O-ring, I've found that liberally spraying the cush pucks with Armor All, and then seating the rear sprocket by pushing it down works for me. And like Yabbbadabba, I have forgotten to check that the tire valve is open... AAHHHHH!!!

So many complaints about the Spyders. Anyone with no problems?

4 Spyders - 290,000 miles Our first 2011 RT had some ongoing issues with several warranty throttle body and lean #2 codes. The '14 RT-S, the '15 RT, and the '16 F3T, all with the 1330 SE6 platform, have been good, with only 1 Fuel pump and the front sprocket recalls, etc. which were all under...

Where do you jack the Spyder Up?

For just working on the brakes or rear wheel area the floor jack works for me. Like others have said, it's good to have a stand or blocking to further ensure that the bike is stable. I also religiously use a rubber pad between the jack and the metal box frame piece so that it doesn't slip off. I...

What is the part number for Brembo rear brake caliper pin? 2015 RT

Just changing out the rear tire for another General Altimax and going to change out the brake pads as well. I noticed that the caliperpin had a wear spot where the inner pad rested. Maybe that's why the inner pad was wore down twice as much as the pad closest the piston. Are there any...

How many miles on your current Spyder?

2015 Rt has 77,150 mi and the wifes 2016 F3T has 84,050 miles. We've slowed down the last couple years since post # 223 on page 9.....

Parking Brake Motor - Pro's & Con's of leaving it off during winter hibernation?

A pro for not setting the parking brake when parking in the garage is that I can push it around to get a little more room if needed, whatever the need- whether to work on it, check the air in the tires, or work on the car etc... A rug, power cord or just the flat garage floor means it...

What Life/Mileage can I expect from a 2016 RT engine?

2015 RT with 77,000 miles Getting ready for Spring. The 15 RT just turned 77,000 miles and put a new rear tire on the wifes 16 F3T with 82,500 miles. I have a couple of oil filter change kits from BajaRon and oil ready for changes when needed. Wash, rinse, Ryde and Repeat...

Is 82 from Carbondale to twin lakes paved all the way?

"I was told running north on 92 on the east side of black canyon is better than running south. " We always enjoy 92 either way from the 50 turn-off to Hotchkiss with the scenic pulloffs and frequent wildlife sightings. Mornings are best for wildlife viewing and to beat the traffic as...

Is 82 from Carbondale to twin lakes paved all the way?

Its a pretty drive in the summer. Be aware of altitude sickness, hydrate, and most high passes in Colorado have snow and are closed if not a major interstate. Yes it is paved, but check the CDOT site, Mt Evans, Trail Ridge Road and others usually open around Memorial...

Done - Rear Tire Replacement on my 2020 RT!

Congrats on your tire change Xwingnut. It certainly gives satisfaction to be able to change out these common wear items of tires and brake pads when needed. It also gives the opportunity to clean around the rear wheel, and prolong the life of the axle spacers and seals by cleaning and...

What's the Best way to fix this tire?

Like Askitee we were a ways from nearest services when I hit a rock washed onto the road during a downpour in the Arizona mountains west of Show Low. https://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?116125-Flat-Tire&p=1397990#post1397990 We were lucky enough to get a flat tow and found the...

    A Message for the Moderators

All good comments along the way and although I also feel that we tend to complain too much these days but I try to remember three "truisms" from my working days. 1. Change is inevitable 2. Flexibility is the key to survival 3. Communication is always good. Even if I may not agree...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

Just got our 16 F3T and 15 RT back from the Sprocket Inspection. Great time of the year for riding, but since we had other commitments last week, we scheduled the bikes to be inspected and brake fluid flushes while they were in. Our local dealer, Fremont Motorsports checked both out and both...

So I did a thing... now my wife owns a 2020 Spyder RTL!

Congrats on the new Spyder and kudos on your maiden voyage with the three wheels! I applaud your assessment of the next maintenance items and hope your wife enjoys the ryde as well as my wife enjoys her Spyder (s). We travel better with each riding our own, and I enjoy keeping up with...

Left front fender vibrating, maybe a loose bolt?? Anyone else?

Have you looked for a broken front bracket just above where it bolts to the hub? We've had several break over the years, and the last replacement bracket was a heavier redesign. Previous yrs replaced were 2011 RT, 2015 RT, and 2015 RTS..

Fobo TPMS reads wrong - Is there a recalibration?

On the Settings tap for FOBO on your phone there is a tab to Enable or Disable Gauge pressure (scroll down on the functions). Dont ask me to explain the difference but it amounts to about 2 Psi on my displayed readings (24.2 vs 26.6) - ??

2016 RT - any suggestions for a longer lasting rear tire? estimated mileage?

We have been running the General Altimax RT43 on our 15 RT and 16 F3T both one up on mostly secondary roads, summer touring since the originals wore out. On the last four tires we got between 21,000 and 23,500 miles (average of 22K for the 4) and will probably need to put another Altimax...

Why recall on 2015-2019 pulleys only?

Like Freddy said There were some early failures on the Spyders with the 998 twin engine platform with lower hhp and torque, and probably due to manufacturing tolerance range and maintenance as with most mechanical failures IMHO. With the 1330 engine and higher torque output from that...

What happens when you have flat FRONT tire going 75mph??

I hit a large angular rock that washed onto the road 30 mi west of Show Low AZ and blew the sidewall on the right front tire (Kumho Solus). I was probably only going 30-45 due to the rainstorm and road conditions, but was able to slow to a stop and then ease down the shoulder to a safe...
