• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Wet clutch operation explained

I got this this morning in an email from Amsoil. It certainly supplemented the tiny bits I knew...

parking brake pulley not lined up

It's a 2012 SE5. I'm getting ready to change rear brake pads for the first time. While I'm at it, is there a way to correct this situation, where my parking brake pulley isn't lining up with the cable bracket?

Parking brake issue - 2012 RS

When I de-actuate the parking brake pedal, the pedal comes up fast, but the brake pulley releases really slowly. This puts slack in the cable, allowing it to pop off the pulley. I removed the pulley and found that the caliper actuator (little stub shaft with the splines) that used to move...

Anyone seen this brake problem before?

I got a few miles from home on my 2012 RS SE5, when I noticed the smell of hot brakes. As I left off the throttle the Spyder slowed down abnormally fast, so I pulled off the road into a parking lot. After coming to a stop, going to neutral and turning the engine off, the bike wouldn't roll as...

    Sport Rack removal

I've got a downloaded copy of the 2012 service manual that I normally work by on other stuff, but it doesn't address the RS sport rack at all. I know it's bolted on a lot more solidly than the stock tail piece that is covered in the manual, but I don't know where to start taking this thing off...

    Sanity check, please.

I've been in the market for a custom seat. Currently I'm running with the BPR 'Comfort Seat', which for me isn't all that comfortable. I've got a banged up left leg that doesn't bend all that well, so I need to be higher and farther back than the seat alone allows. Using a 2" closed cell foam...

    Parking brake

2700 miles since June, and this makes the 3rd time I've had to adjust the parking brake on my 2012 SE5. Should I shut up and get used to it, or is there an underlying problem. Really sucks when you get to a destination and have to find an absolutely flat place to park.

    Oil Consumption

Since my first oil change at 600 miles, I've been checking the level every 300 miles or so. Each time it's been about halfway between the "full" and "add" lines, so I've added a few ounces to top it off to the full line. So now at 1800 miles I've used about a third of a quart in this puppy...

    HolyCow! Nobody warned me.....

...how much of an accessory money pit my Spyder would turn into. I bought it around Memorial Day. An RS SE5 version that I ordered with 4" handlebar risers, sport rack and passenger back rest, ergo drop passenger peg extensions, the largest touring windshield, and a "Comfort" (hah!) Seat...

    dirt road handling characteristics?

Hi, Y'all! First poster here. No Spyder yet, but it should be delivered and on the road by the first of June. I'll have lots of questions, and here's my first one. I keep reading that the Nanny only responds well to hard road surface. Now, this is of interest to me, since I have a cabin in...
