• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Plastic belt cover

Installed a Smoothspyder belt tensioner this weekend. Fairly easy install except for an engineering oversight by BRP. When you try to remove the 3 screws for the plastic belt cover, you discover that 2 of them have floating nuts attached that you have to get a socket or wrench on. It's a...

    Front tire swap affect alignment?

Had a Laser alignment done last month at Biketoberfest with good results. Just changed my front tires out last week to General Altimax 185/60R14s. The Generals are much smoother and grip better BUT it seems to be darting around some in windy conditions and highway riding like it did before the...

    Rear Brake Help

Trying to change rear pads and ran into a glitch. To remove the rearmost caliper hex bolt I simply rotated the parking brake by hand which exposed the rear bolt head enough to remove it. I've installed the new pads and the forward hex bolt BUT the parking brake assembly will no longer rotate...

    Laser Alignment

If you're visiting Biketoberfest, you might want to consider riding down to Edgewater for a Laser Alignment. Had mine done yesterday and my toe was corrected from 2.1 to .05. Felt pretty nice afterwards going 65 with no hands on the bars. After a lot of prior tweaks, Elkas, shock extenders...

    Laser Alignment Question

I'm getting one done on Thursday at Central Florida Powersports in Kissimmee. Do I need to be sitting on the Spyder when this is done?? Seems to me that the geometry would change with weight.

200 miles on one tank of gas

While at Spyderfest, Pitbull hooked up my 2012 RT to BUDs and did a bunch of updates (year old and I had never been to a dealer). Noticed that it ran smoother, I could use lower octane and that the mileage jumped about 3 mpg. I have a K&N air filter and Cat Bypass. Bumpskid and sport windscreen...

    VSS Code

2012 RT, 9000 miles..Had my first code/limp mode yesterday..VSS...Ran it twice afterward for about 45 miles with no repeat. Can this be a one time anomaly or does it usually happen again? Kinda spooky when you're riding on high speed roads or passing on a 2 lane with oncoming traffic and you're...

    Exhausting mistake

Working today on changing out rear tire. Got it off but don't have use of tire machine till this afternoon SOOO I decided to pull exhaust down as I had a leaky gasket. In reading posts it looked like the honda gaskets were the way to go (should have read further) so I had ordered them previously...

    Sean Bluetooth Headset Question

I've got one and love it and am considering a 2nd one. If you're bluetoothed to your cell phone for music, etc, can you still communicate with your passenger if they have one also?

    Got Caught!

Have been taking 10 year old daughter on back of RT to various places since school let out. Unfortunately, today she had to yell out "are we taking the motorcycle?" when we were getting ready to leave. Well, mom heard that and what followed wasn't pleasant. I never hid the fact that I was taking...

    Footrests?

At Tom's Burger ride on Saturday I saw the Madstad footrests. They looked nice BUT they seem to have only the all black option on the site, they are pricey $279 plus 38 bucks shipping! plus I'm in FL so tax also. I like the way they attach whereas the Gadget footrests appear to be attached to...

Question on New Oil Filter Access Body Panel

Just got the new maintenance schedule booklet along with a voucher for the new lower panel. Here's what it says: "It's free until May 31st, 2013 upon presentation of the included voucher when installed by your authorized Can Am dealer at your next maintenance appointment" Does this mean if you...

Hokey graphic or worth leaving on?

I got a pair of these inexpensive decals. I cut this one out and taped it on and not sure if it's worth putting it on permanently (the white outline wouldn't show in final application). Opinions??

    Pulling airbag

Does anyone have experience removing the airbag? When I had first gotten my new RT home from dealer last month the airbag had zero pressure. Every time I would check it would seem a pound or two lower. A few weeks back I installed an aftermarket on board air compressor which gives a constant...

    Air Suspension

Is losing about a pound per day normal? My RT came without ACS and when I would check the pressure it would seem to lose a little in between checks. I sprayed lines as best I could (hard to get at) and saw no obvious leaks. I've since installed an onboard compressor which has an air gauge in the...

    Bluetooth Headset---WOW!

Been riding for years and had 2 prior Goldwings with hard wired helmets to bike. When I bought the RT I opted for no radio as the set up didn't even have a hard wire. Just bought a Sena SMH5 for under 100 bucks after reading a post here. Combine with an Iphone 4S and it's amazing. Was out today...

    RT Exhaust Wrap

Has anyone wrapped their RTs exhaust?? I figure this would alleviate some front seat heat, cooler fuel, etc. My main concern is that you can't wrap the cat and wrapping the header pipes will increase the exhaust heat going into the cat which is hot enough already. Opinions? Has anyone dumped the...
