• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Lighting WOW Factor

Just a quick shout out to TricLed for a great product. I just installed their newer version 360 Led Headlight lamps and matching fog lamps on my 2011 RTS. The difference in light is nothing short of amazing. Great product!! The lamps are on special at SlingMods.com for 109.00 for each set...

Tickets for ryding in Maryland and other places??

An aquaintence of ours was pulled over in Maryland (in thier cage) and asked to justify why they were traveling on the road during a "lockdown." Because they were just out for a drive, they were ticketed for violation of the govenors' order to stay at home except for emergency or essential...

    998cc Radiator Hose Clamp Size??

This is a plea for some help from those of you who have done coolant changes on your bikes. Spyderlovers is such a great resource of information. You have saved me lots of time on past projects, and I am looking forward to your input. I want to do a radiator flush and fill on my 2011 RT-S. I...

    Zumo 660LM - Maps??

I have a Zumo 660LM on my 2011 RTS. The LM indicates lifetime maps, and they have been updated several times over the years. I use Garmin Express, but have not seen any map updates for what seems to be a very long time. They used to update the maps about three times a year. I understand the...

    Axle torque - how?

I have a 2011 RTS. I have had the tire changed, and the tech did not do a good job of aligning the belt. I have the wrenches and sockets and have done the belt tension and alignment. A bit tricky, but not impossible. However.......... I want to torque the axle to the 96 flb spec, but there...

    Belt Tension for RT

Good day all. Just two quick (I hope) questions. What is the currently accepted "correct" tension setting for a 2011 RT drive belt? If you are using an aftermarket belt tensioner (I am using DOC's), do you need to disable it or factor it in to the final tension setting? As always, I...

    Thanks for all the help!!!

Well, some of the things I have learned here are really paying off. Yesterday was a beautiful day in Northwest Virginia. So, I got ready to spend the day in the open air. Got the bike rolled out of the garage, hit the starter, and only a brief sputter and then nothing. It would crank, but...

Oil Change - What's all the fuss about??

Well, I got tired of paying the dealer to change the oil on my 2011 RT-S SM5. I have read all of the posts here, looked at a bunch of YouTube videos, and thought - Hey, I think I can do this! I have always done this on my other bikes, so why not. I bought the ATV jack some years ago and...

Associate Press Release - Traction Control

Interesting press release on the AP yesterday. It seems that "luxury motorcyles" are going to get traction control in the future! And we have had it all along. I always thought my Spyder RT was a luxury machine, and I guess this proves it...

I am going to Saphire, NC next week for some vacation time. Trailering the RT, and am looking for some ride ideas in the area. Anyone have some input? Also, if there is something in the general area (have the car, so can go either on the bike or in the cage) that is a must-see while in the...

    The Wave

Looking to tap the many resources of the group regarding an upcoming trip. Starting March 9th, the wife and I will be spending about a week in Maggie Valley and the following week in Gatlinburg. We are trailering the Spyder so we can do some "Cloverleaf Tours" on the RT, as well as some...

    Lift placement for RT

I am sure this has been addressed, but I could not find it. I noticed in one of the pictures from SpyderFest someone was installing the ELKA shocks with the lift placed under the front of the Spyder instead of from the side. Where exactly do you put the lift to only lift the front off the...

    Bajaron Bar Install Question

I have my new bar, and am ready to do the install. Everyone here has said it is not complicated, and the directions are great. However, there is one bit of knowledge missing that I think I should know. Does the load have to be removed from the suspension in order to do the install? Normally...
