• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder Ryders of America in Florida

Does anyone know is the Florida Coast to Coast chapter or the Space Coast Region is still active?

    Finally Riding Again!

Picked up my RT from Central Florida Power Sports this afternoon and rode it the 65 miles home with no problems to my ankle! First time I've ridden since before I broke and dislocated my left ankle last December. It felt so great to be riding again! And I'm REALLY glad I have an SE...there's no...

    Almost back in the saddle...

I haven't ridden since my left ankle was dislocated and broken last December. My Spyder's been sitting in my daughter's garage since that time. Due to the fact I've had four surgeries since the accident and spent most of that time in bed or in a wheelchair I basically didn't even get to see it...

Getting Close To Being Able To Ride Again.

Well, in another week I should be getting out of the boot for my broken/dislocated left ankle and, if all goes well, I may be able to start some easy riding a week or two after that. It's been almost nine months and two major surgeries (and a LOT of titanium hardware) since it happened and I'm...

    Update on my ankle

Well, I had successful surgery on my ankle the end of May to fix the initial repair that came apart. It seems to be working...everything is stable and the bone graft is setting in place. Still won't be able to put weight on it until late August but there's a decent chance I may be able to start...

    More surgery

Home from the hospital after the second, and more extensive, operation on my ankle Friday. I'll be non weight bearing for at least three full months, so no riding until fall at the earliest. Hope this one works out better!

    Still can't ride...

The injury to my ankle I got in December still hasn't healed enough for me to ride. No longer in the boot full time but still on crutches much of the time and my ankle simply won't let me get up in the saddle. Very frustrating. Really hoping I'll be able to ride by May, but just don't know. On...

    No riding for awhile

While out of the country over Christmas week I had a non riding accident that both broke my left fibula and badly dislocated my left ankle. Made it back in country Sunday and Tuesday had surgery that put in a plate that set the bone and got the ankle back together. Back home now but will be off...

    Slingshot on the road.

Saw a Slingshot on the road today...heading south on U.S. 1 near Cocoa. It was in company with someone on a regular two wheeler. I was in my car... To me it just seems too exposed, which is weird considering we ride Spyders. Neither of the riders in the SS were wearing helmets, which may be...

    What's your "traditional" Thanksgiving meal?

Thanksgiving's screaming down on us in just a few days...what's your "traditional" Thanksgiving feast? It wasn't until I was in the military that I realized how different people's Thanksgiving menus were...I find it kinda interesting. Mine? Turkey (recipe by Alton Brown from Food...

    Veterans Day Spyder ride.

Rode in the Veterans Day parade in Melbourne, FL again this year...and really glad I did. There were at least 30 Spyder riders there and, as usual, riding in the parade is something that makes me feel good. Saw many other veterans along the parade route...including a number of WW-II vets...

    2013 heat fix for non-2013 RT's.

Has anyone with a 2010-2012 RT who did NOT have overheating problems get the 2013 airscoop heat-fix anyway? Just to get the scoops on and keep the heat down a little more? Just curious.

    BRP calling Spyders "motorcycles?"

I have recently seen ads were BRP seems to now be calling Spyders "motorcycles" instead of roadsters, which I heartily agree with. Anyone else seen this?

    FINALLY back on my Spyder!

I've been having some health problems (leftovers from injuries many, many moons ago, that have cropped up as I get older...I'm 64) and they've kept me off the Spyder for most of the spring and summer. FINALLY I've gotten over enough of them to get back on the bike! Last week did some riding...

    Won't start

Well, I went into the garage a few minutes ago to ride to a doctor appointment and my RT won't start. When I turn the key everything does what it's supposed to but when I hit the starter button it just clicks and the system recycles. Already checked that the ignition is turned on (first thing...

    What a find!

My wife found this in storage today...the helmet I was wearing in July 1980 when I was hit on my Yamaha XS 500 by a drunk driver. This was the helmet that literally saved my life! (Though with other injuries I had I was in the hospital for over six months and it took me two years to relearn how...

Spyders at Daytona Monster Dash October 17th?

I went to Biketoberfest by myself last Friday...spend some time watching the bike races then wandered around the Midway for awhile (met Lamont at the Spyder tent). Then I went and got in line for the Monster Dash ride around the speedway, as I did last year. Even though I looked, I didn't see...

Haven't been able to ryde lately...

On the weekend of July 4th I knocked the back of my legs (again) against the %$#%&*%$ steel cross beams behind the ladder into the front starters stand at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Because my right leg is "bad" (crushed and burned when a drunk driver hit me on my Yamaha XS 500 in Key West in...

BRP isn't always the evil, uncaring corporation...

At least not with me. The XM radio on my RT-AC went out less than a year after it was installed. I didn't get around to going to the dealer with it for over a year after that. When I did it was just to see if they could find out what the problem was...hoping it was fixable. Well, it wasn't...
