• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Feel like a kid at Christmas

....but wait, I shouldn't! I already own a spyder. However, the excitement is building for Friday morning. Now a little back story... We have owned our beloved spyder since '12 and have ridden 14k relatively trouble free miles. But about 2 months ago, I experienced the orange screen of death...

    Need confirmation about battery

Alright "experts"...I think I already know the answer to my dilemma, but figured I'd ask anyway. 2011 Rt on the original battery will not start. It's been hooked up to a tender thru the 12v plug after every ride this year(yes, still riding in Texas...sorry!). Unfortunately, turn the key today...

    Blew another rear shock

Took the wife for a 50 mile ride on Friday, but without incident. On the way home, we had to navigate some construction and unfortunately, the temporary roads/crossovers are in terrible shape. As a result, we did some bumping and banging over the imperfections, and I heard it.....bang! Rear...

    Check DPS/Limp Home Mode

Need some help experts...wife was on the spyder the other day when she called and said the screen was a unhappy shade of orange, check dps and limp home. She pulled over, pulled the key and walked away. Fired up about 5 min later, all clear. Ran about 3 more miles and it triggered again...

    Where did it go??

So my girls were playing in the garage when the older one comes in and says...can you come here. Knowing the spyder is parked there I get nervous as the tone in my daughters voice also had some nervousness...and we walk to the spyder. Turns out they put a pair of tweezers on the backrest and...

    Too nice not to enjoy!

So we were awoken by a severe thunderstorm around the 3 o'clock hour this morning...no problem, we knew that better weather was on its way. Roll outta bed around 8 ready to go. Run some errands and hurry back to get the spyder out for a run. Wife says "I want to run downtown" so then it was...

Schraeder valve/valve core on air bag got me today

Had the day off today and decided to prep the spyder for our upcoming ride tomorrow with the folks from the selling dealer(old Bonnie and Clyde trail). Cleaned it up real good, checked fluids, pressures, etc and then I went to add some air in the rear bag. I took the valve cap off and was...

    New rear shock

Well, had the first mechanical fix on the:spyder2:. Noticed about 2 weeks ago, there was some "slap" on the rear. Standing on the passenger foot pegs and jumping up and down I could hear the shock bottoming out on rebound. Quick trip to the dealer confirmed it and parts were ordered. Just...

    Check engine light

Alright experts, got a check engine light 3 times this past weekend. Now for a little background... I went and took the Motorcycle Safety Course(wanted to get a break on insurance)and used the spyder. On day one, we started on the driving course in the heat of the day and temps were pushing 95...

    Saw my first Spyder today!

So, I had a day off of work today, did some things around the house, then decided to go for a ride. I like sticking to the back roads to enjoy the scenery and avoid the big truck going through the area. I'm about half way into my ride starting to head home and to my surprise, I see off in the...

    Just curious...600 mile service complete

Well, today was the day. Called first thing this am and asked the dealer if they could squeeze me in for the 600 mile service later in the afternoon. To my surprise, they said come on in around 1 and be prepared to sit for a couple hrs. Headed down with a bag of food in hand and was ready to...

    Small drops on garage floor

Alright guys, because I'm a newb and slightly paranoid, can someone explain to me why there are small drops of a clear fluid(almost smells like alcohol) coming from the drain hose on the right side, mid machine underneath? The drain hose reminds me of an a/c drain on a car and I know it's...

    The questions keep coming

So, I've been out and about on the Spyer the last few days, and I'm blown away by all of the interest that everyone has in this machine. Get ready to leave work the other day, quickly had to give a tour to an interested couple. Parked in the Cabelas lot, gave a tour to another interested...

    Competing with the Mrs.

Well, it's official! After just one short week of ownership, the wife s comfortable enough to go out on her own. She left me today and did a 40 mile ride all by herself, so proud of her. One week in and 375 miles later, we are both so happy we took the plunge! Ryde on everyone!

    New owner in Texas

I've been trolling around the board for a little bit and have made some replies to other posts, but haven't made it official of being a Spyder owner. Some other forums I frequent claim without pictures it never happened, so here's the proof. Thanks in advance for letting me hang around. I'm...
