• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need Some Help Here Part 1

I was caught in high winds and blowing sand riding home from a small mining town where I was spending the day teaching at the high school. We were expecting high wind (20-25 mph) in the afternoon with gusts of 35 mph-which is fairly normal in our part of the desert. What we got was 35-40 with...

    This just plain true

From Zen Motorcyclist on our riding brotherhood and sisterhood. I really needed to read this during period of constant turmoil out of our capital: "We [motorcyclists] tend to lean toward the good, toward positivity and open-mindedness. Whether that is true of all motorcyclists or just true of...

    Baaaad!

Who says we can't look baaaad at 70? My daughter and son-in-law gave me the dew rag and bandana as a gag Christmas stocking stuffer; said now I can look like a "real biker". Now, if I can get my RT to go "potato potato potato potato at stop lights.....

    DPS Check Question

Background: After turning at an intersection yesterday, I had the orange screen "Check DPS" come on momentarily followed by the alternating orange handlebar warning at the bottom of my digital display. I really did not notice a bad degradation of the steering but it did seem stiffer. Scoot3r is...

    Seats interchangeable?

My navigator and I purchased an Ultimate Mid-rider seat in June and we both love it. My navigator is really happy not having to share her seat with the "Hump" of the rider's lumbar support on the standard and OEM comfort seat as well as the increased height which allows her to have a better...

    Just Wondering

I was cleaning my “old” RT (2010 bought in June 2011) this morning and thinking about my “Navigator” and my upcoming Grand Canyon ryde. Scoot3r has 33,000 miles (not that many) accumulated over five years of road trips and nearly daily commutes. I have had relatively few problems and, best of...

    Our Archives Are Awesome!!

While taking my grandson to school on Scoot3r this morning I heard a loud CRACK with the resulting windscreen flopping down and back against the dash. the lower windscreen pivot arm had broken in half. Having read about a fellow member warning about this a couple of years or so ago I searched...

    Utah/Arizona RT 89A

Always looking for new adventures. My navigator and I are thinking about riding from St George, UT across to Marble Canyon, Az then down to the Grand Canyon South Rim, maybe some time in June. Has anyone been across that route? Any comments, thoughts, do's and don'ts would be really appreciated.

Core Curriculum. You Gotta Be Kidding

I just watched my grand daughter complete a 2.5 hour online 9th Grade Honors Biology test-and as a teacher with some experience I'm not sure where we are going in our Core Curriculum. Here's a question from the exam: "During chemiosis, ______ are transferred from NADH and FADH2 to electron...

    Extremely Disturbing-No Joke!

A very graphic reason for wearing proper gear. This HOAR (Hop On And Ride) learned the hard way after getting low sided. Really caught my attention.

    Another MAYDAY!

Went out to start up my 2010 RT this morning. displays came up normally, got the normal "read...select mode switch" etc. Made sure kill button was on run and hit the starter. had a click and displays went dead. Thought "Hmmm, battery." hooked up the battery charger and after about 10 minutes...

Rear Sprocket Bearing Change Questions for Tech??

Getting ready to have the 30K mile maintenance done on my 210 RT and was checking my maintenance schedule so I don't look too stupid when I talk with my CanAm tech on what needs to be and not needs to be completed. I saw that the rear sprocket bearing is to be replaced, and I have two questions...

    Really Curious

I have a 2010 RT A&C SE5 that I bought new in June, 2011 and it's now showing 24,000 miles on the odometer. With the exception of a rear shock replacement at 12,000 miles and a Throttle Body replacement at 22,000 miles, Skoot3r has been trouble-free. Right now my Sweety and I thoroughly enjoy...

    Tires (Again) Need Opinions

After 23,000 miles and my second OEM rear tire on my 2010 RT, it's time to replace that rear tire. Although the front tires are wearing well, I am going to replace them at the same time. I have spent some time researching posts on replacements-there is a wealth of knowledge as well as opinions...

    Great Job Guys

Want to pass on a heartfelt thanks to the Whittier Fun Center and BRP for a great job in repairing my 2010 RT A&C. I began experiencing check engine warnings and “limp mode idle on start up during a High Sierra/Yosemite Valley ryde in late July. No further problems for a while but then the...

    @#**#@ RANT!

I consider myself to be a reasonably intelligent person; my knuckles don't drag the ground when I walk and I breath through my nose. BUT, can someone please tell me how the @@##%* heck we can access the coolant reserve tank, and remove the cap as well as getting the cap back on without: a)...

    Getting My Brain Reset

I got up this morning, went into the bathroom, and looking in the mirror I saw this skinny old man looking back at me. And all I could think was, “When in the hell did this happen; I know it wasn’t yesterday.” And with this image and and these words rattling around my head I knew it was time for...
