• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Leaner! Leaner! Leaner!

Ooooooooooh... Honda Neowing concept: http://www.gizmag.com/honda-neowing-leaning-three-wheeled-concept-motorcycle/39654/ I'll be the broken record: the RS replacement ought to be a leaner to further differentiate itself from the pack, especially now that the F3 is out.

Jalopnik post on the Spyder F3 today

Interesting post there that inspired a comment by me... which ended up as their Comment of the Day! :firstplace:. http://jalopnik.com/tri-curious-i-rode-the-can-am-three-wheeler-and-felt-f-1719642690 http://jalopnik.com/comment-of-the-day-in-defense-of-the-can-am-three-whee-1723751704

Would *you* have sold the bike?

Had myself a little moral dilemma this morning. Readers know I bought myself a new motorcycle a few weeks ago, a Honda CB500F-- that I'm loving, BTW!-- which necessitates me selling my little Ninja 250 (GF won't let me keep *three* bikes in the driveway, I don't blame her, we we're getting to...

My Spyder Has A New Friend...

New 2014 Honda CB500F... picked her up Saturday. Intent is to replace my 2007 Ninja 250 once I can move that bike on Craigslist (GF isn't happy there are now THREE bikes in the driveway... I told her I can't help it, they keep following me home! :joke:). Anyway, I've been surprised at how much...

Minor yet vital observation from my demo ride RE: F3 mirrors

One thing I forgot to add a little thing to my demo ride review-- http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?79388-I-rode-the-F3! The F3's mirrors are excellent right out of the gate. Considering one of the first purchases I made on my RS was to fix the useless mirrors with aftermarket...

    I rode the F3!

After four wonderful years happily riding my 2010 RS, all I can say is, holy :cus: would I get a lot of tickets on an F3. :2thumbs: Did a demo ride this afternoon at Coleman Powersports in Falls Church (shout out to a great BRP event on an otherwise cold & dreary day). The nicest thing was the...

What interest rate is BRP offering right now on their financing?

The Can-Am site isn't showing any financing promotions right now, so just curious what folks are being quoted on, say, the F3. My credit union is embarrassingly awful on motorcycle loans these days, so I'm pretty sure BRP can beat them by a mile...

Patent filed for new Honda leaning reverse trike

Based off their NC platform... hmmm. :coffee: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/honda-files-patents-for-leaning-three-wheeled-motorcycle/26164.html

Random thoughts RE: Progressive Motorcycle Show and F3

Went to the motorcycle show this weekend in D.C. Smaller than in previous years, but still plenty of neat bikes, and of course the star of the show, the F3. I don't have much to say that hasn't been said already, but since this was the first time I ever had a chance to see and sit on one in...

    Rack/top case options for F3?

I didn't see any option for an F3 equivalent to the RS "sport rack" that could potentially accommodate a top case. Is there such a thing? Honestly, all the F3 reviews have got me more excited than I probably should be given my bank account , but one thing holding me back from being...

    Motorcyclist review of F3

Verdict only 6 out of 10, but the text reads far better than the score: http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/reviews/2015-can-am-spyder-f3-first-ride Guess that's the trouble when getting a two-wheeler reviewer onto a Spyder for the first time: they spend all their brief time unlearning two...

    F3 Frunk... any pictures?

I must have missed it-- anyone see any photos of what the F3 frunk actually looks like open? :dontknow: Everyone assumes its smaller than the current stable of Spyders based on the exterior shots, but aside from the actual volume number (which is?), I'm simply curious what it looks like inside...

New Yamaha Leaning Reverse Trike Concept

The Yamaha 01Gen, revealed yesterday: http://www.visordown.com/motorcycle-news-new-bikes/intermot-2014-yamaha-unveils-01gen-three-wheeler-concept/25644.html Likely vaporware-- pretty much just a pretty sketch-- but if Yamaha put something out more powerful than its Tri-City (and more...

Harley Releases New Trike for 2015

Introducing the Freewheeler: http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Motorcycles/freewheeler.html Looks like a factory version of a Lehman conversion; great option for the crowd that wants an OEM trike but doesn't like the fuddiness of the Tri-Glide. Between this, the Street bikes, the...

Question for Kewlmetal Filter Owners - Do you have to clean it?

So, I've owned the Kewlmetal air intake kit for a couple years now, and it recently occurred to me, do I need to clean and oil the filter? I'm guessing you treat it like any ol' K&N filter, but honestly, I forget if there ever were any instructions to do so. Anyone know? :dontknow:

Folks, it was time to buy a different bike...

... in addition to my Spyder! :joke: 2007 Ninja EX250 with ~1,600 miles on it. Bought a few weeks back, but been keeping it a secret because I only got around to finally riding it this morning after I got it home from the shop. The bike was in good shape, but ollllld, a real Craigslist...

    Harley-Davidson Introduces Electric Motorcycle!

Wow, did NOT expect this from Harley, at least not this soon: http://www.myfoxny.com/story/25817399/harley-davidson-introduces-electric-motorcycle My thoughts: 1. Awesome! 2. Definitely a *completely* different audience to appeal to than the traditional HD riders. Electric bikes aren't...

Who here has *actually used* their BEST Warranty (either regular, *or* extended)?

Note: I added the 4th question below, figure that helps out folks reading this thread understand and appreciate what's covered under warranty. ---- I saw in a different new rider thread the oft-mentioned Spyderlovers recommendation to purchase the extended warranty on the Spyder...

    Perspective

Took my Spyder in today for its 2015 Virginia state inspection at the dealer. About eight bikes around me all waiting for service and inspections, I got to chat with plenty of bike owners. My local Spyder dealer is also a Ducati dealer. I desperately want a Monster for two-wheel fun, and no...

Forget the RS Hybrid... We need the RS Electric!

A few days old, I just caught this today: http://www.gizmag.com/zero-sr-2014-electric-motorcycle-review-test-ride/32015/ I have yet to try an electric bike, mostly because I don't want to be tempted to buy something at a price I can't justify paying. Yet, the price will continue to...
